i normally have really really really messed up dreams that make no sense (like, i'll get out of my car, walk ten feet from it, turn around and it will have turned into a bike). but last night i had a very short and to the point and real feeling dream. in the dream, i woke up in the morning, before my husband (just like always), and i went to the bathroom. i decided to take a pregnancy test, and it was positive! but then i couldn't decide whether or not i wanted to tell my husband, so i was carrying the test around in my pocket the rest of the dream trying to decide whether or not to show it to him. *hehe* are dreams like that signs? anybody else having dreams like that?

I dunno, but a few nights ago I dreamed that I was pregnant and I was talking to a lady who was further along - you know, "what's it like" and all that - when she started trying to have sex with me! And I kept telling her that I was flattered, but I don't swing that way! LOL

But.. your dream.. I know that typically, if you dream of say, a relative that has passed on and it has a generally different feel than your typical dreams and it has that note of realness, then it is usually said relative paying a visit in the easiest medium attainable..

That said, I think that dreams tend to serve three purposes : one is so that we can work though problems that we don't want to face and deal with on a subconcious level. Two is just to sort of.. reconcile events of the day with ourselves and our lives (you see a romantic comedy and then pass a hot guy on the street and dream of a romance with the hot guy even though you're happily married) and three is to serve as premonitory devices. I think our subconcious is plugged into a lot more than we realize and sometimes dreams will tap into that. If we're lucky enough to remember them, I think those dreams take on a different tone so that when we remember them, we recognize them for what they are.

Make sense?

LOL!!! I completely understand your dream Christie...Before I knew I was pregnant with my son, I had a dream about a baby girl that looked EXACTLY like I did when I was a baby and then I saw a baby boy, who looked EXACTLY like my son did when he was born.

Subconsciously I dismissed the dream. It didn't come flooding back until I saw my sons face for the first time. I was floored! So now, I'm sitting here thinking, if I'm pregnant now, will this be the girl that I saw previously?

Yes are dreams serve more than one purpose. I truly believe that what we dream are our subconscious thoughts and desires.

That is too funny. I have dreams just like that where something turns into something else. Anyway, last night I had a pregnancy dream, well sorta. In the dream, I got out of the shower and got dressed. I'm walking around all day wearing my jeans when slowly I realize they aren't my jeans, but maternity jeans. I wasn't even pregnant, just walking around wearing maternity jeans adjusted tight to fit for a small tummy. Thank God they were still big on me, that made me feel better. Just really weird how vividly I dreamt about those maternity clothes.

Wow! I usually don't dream much, unless something major is happening in my life. Well, I guess a better way to put it is that I don't remember my dreams usually. But this one was soooo vivid. I have thought that maybe I was pg for a few days, but I can't test yet. The dream I had last night was that my best friend (male) came home--he lives considerably far from our hometown--because his mother died. Only his mother doesn't live here either. Then, there was a baby in my arms at the funeral. Then, my friend, his wife, and I were all walking my dog that passed on about a month ago--only my dog was a rescue dog and did not take to strangers well. I was wondering if anyone thinks there might be some connection between death/new life. I just had a feeling in this dream that something about me was different, something had changed and was new. Many issues at work here. Any thoughts would be great.

Your vision of babies looking like you and your husband reminded me of a dream I had, which I thought I'd share. I just found out my cousin just had a baby (that's not the dream part) and that night I had a dream not about her, but of her sister having a baby. I could see the baby so clearly. Well, guess what. That morning I found out that she was expecting and was about a month along. The next 8 months I could still see the baby's face so clearly. I was floored when the baby was finally born and believe it or not looked just like my dream. In the dream the baby's name was Jussa (don't ask). I still want to call her that. In my heart I feel she's Jussa and not her real name.

Anyway, I agree that dreams release your subconcious feelings. I dreamt about maternity clothes last night and yesterday I was out shopping for a baby gift for the above mentioned baby when I passed by the maternity clothes section. A few quick thoughts passed through my brain, but then I moved on. I guess those thoughts really stuck with me.

I feel that sometimes your subconscious knows before our conscious mind does. I think that women are more perceptive than we give ourselves credit for. We see and recognize the smallest change in another female but it's so quick that we don't "see" it. Then when we dream, a light goes off and you "remember" what you already saw.

I believe that when something is really on our minds and we dwell on it, we usually end up dreaming about it and if we're searching for an answer, somehow the next day or whenever we wake up, we have made a decision.

remember that saying when you have 3 deaths then a new life is created or a child is born. Or if you dream about fish then someone's pregnant. I'm still having issues with those. I've been in situations where 3 people that I knew of passed away and I'd talk to a friend and she's pregnant. And the same with the fish. So you may be correct in assuming that there is a connection between life and death.

idnp -

do you believe in reincarnation? I'm still up in the air on that one, not sure, but one arguement for that dream would be that Jussa was a name the baby previously had. And when you were dreaming about it, that was the only name it knew to impart on you.

Its funny, how I can explain away things I'm not even sure i believe it. I guess because I haven't written it off yet, either. :)

Hey I thought I'd share my dream with you also---I actually had this dream last night so was floored that this subject was on the board today---anyways in my dream I went to the bathroom and tested and the test showed up postive --clear as day two red lines on the test--I tilted it every way I could and it was still postive no denying it! in my dream I was (ofcourse happy) and then I woke up

I should be about 5 DPO (i'm not sure if I am or not b/c I don't chart or anything like that) but my boobs say I ovualted!

anyways good luck to all and hopefully our dreams are telling us the truth!!
