Early Pregnancy Symptoms?
26
Mon, 11-06-2006 - 2:12pm

Ok, ladies, expecially all you already-mommies and soon-to-be mommies! :)

I've got some questions. Can you please share (if you remember) some of your earliest pregnancy symptoms? I'm in my TWW and it's driving me INSANE!! I need something to keep my mind off testing. I am waaaay too early to test (3DPO) and I've got a long week ahead of me. So, I figured if you can tell me some of your early symptoms I can then obsess to see if that's what maybe I'm **hopefully** experiencing!! :) So, please share! :)

Hi there,
Well I am expecting my sixth child. I have five boys already. I just found out Im expecting again and Im only 7 weeks along.
One of my first signs are a small craving. Since this is my sixth time around I am starting to recognize it. Like for me its been Jalapeno poppers this time. I dont think twice about them normally, but I love them when Im pregnant, and anything with vinegar. Most women crave something distinct that they wouldnt normally like or at least love.

I have cramps and mini hot flashes just like when Im getting ready to start my period. So I always think Im not preggers because of this, but those symptoms clearly dont mean anything.

My face breaks out, which is also a sign of PMS, but it sticks around longer. It does go away for me after a couple of weeks, thankfully.

Otherwise there really isnt anything crazy to go by when you are at the very beginning stage of pregnancy. My symptoms are all just very close to PMS, except for the small cravings of a particular food.

Good luck, I hope you get pregnant right away. Sending some baby dust your way!
Love,
Trina

Thank you for wishing me a happy pregnancy. I honestly cant believe Im expecting my sixth right now. My fifth one is not quite one year yet. He will be this month though. At this point, honestly, I want it to be a boy. I have boy everything and I like the idea of the two youngest having each other to do everything with like sports, games, all the stuff that all my boys have in common. It would just be easier, but if I had a little girl I would be thrilled too. It just wouldnt be as practical though at this point.
What about you? How many do you think you will have, and what do you want to have as far as boys and girls?

Hi Robin, at 6week i'm still in early pregnancy. I remember felling a bit more tried and could fall asleep fast. Breast tenderness and some swelling with fine veins appearing. I experienced mild headaches ocassionally. My face broke out like it dose during my period. Yet, no period came not even the spotting that comes sometimes with the implantation. I felt a little queasy at times and felt I had to eat/have certain foods. Now i really fell nausea and smells that never bothered me are so strong i get m/s at any time. As for my breast they are so sore that i wear a bra all the time even to bed. My sleep patern was so bad i couldn't sleep due to my excitment and some worries. My body is finally telling me to sleep more. I'm glad because i knew my body wasn't getting enough sleep. Well good luck to you.I hope my experiences helped you. Oh with my last pregnancy(9yrs.ago) I can remember I that i was always sleepy and the breast fullness too. I didn't get the taste and smell heighting. I don't remember any having any morning sickness.

Thank you all for sharing your experiences and symptoms with me! I still have afew more days till I assume I'll even feel anything! FF change my O date from CD18 to CD19, so I'm still only 3DPO.... sooo, yeah, I'm not feeling anything, nor would I expect to. Hopefully I will by this weekend though!!

Well, thanks again....and if I haven't said it before you to all, CONGRATULATIONS on all your pregnancies!! :)

Oh and Trina...to answer your question. We're thinking of having about 3 children. But I wouldn't mind 4! And I really don't care what they are.. actually, truth be told, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have twins, but DH says he'd be a rotten mess if I was pg w/twins. He would spend the whole 9 months being all stressed out and worried over me. I guess in the past everyone he knows that has ben pg w/twins has had some sort of complication. But we'll se... at this point, I'll take having one tiny heartbeat inside my belly right now! ;)

Though it has been quite a while for me to have experienced any symptoms (my kids ae 16, 13, 10 and 6) I will try to recall some for you.

With each pg. I just felt like I was preggo. It happened from the moment of conception. Some people tell me I am crazy but I actually knew. I also knew if it would be a boy or a girl. That was kind of spooky.

My sense of smell heightened. I couldn't stand the smell of food - any food cooking or cig smoke.

My breast didn't hurt but my nipples felt "tingley" like they do when one needs to nurse. Now being that you have never nursed before you wont know what I am talking about. I know how it feels I just can't explain it any differently.

I had to eat like every two hours as I was starving. But as soon as I ate I was sick. The vomiting didn't start until about 6 weeks into the preg and lasted 4 months with my first. It was so bad that I began to throw up blood. I dropped 25 pounds with her instead of gaining. At 5 months tho I made up for it as I delivered (a month late) at 200 pounds. The other kids I was just vomiting for the first couple of months and it wasn't so bad.

I was always VERY tired. The easiest of tasked drained me.

My gums bled and it gaged me to brush my teeth.

CRAZY I mean CRAZY mood swings. Those began about the time of conception.

Nightmares were also present for the first several weeks.

I also had a craving not for food but for baby shopping. To wander the baby section of stores.

Hope that helps. But really every person is different and every pregnancy is different. I hope you and your DH get that bundle of joy soon.

It is still too early to have any symptoms, try to distract yourself until it's near the time you are suppose to get your period. I did not have any symptoms until a week after I missed my period. The first thing I noticed of course was the missed period, but I also had mild cramping for the first two weeks and my breast became very heavy and sore.
So hang in there!!!!
