It's still too early, but can't stand the wait (truth be told I already took one...okay two)...How accurate are the early tests? Or should I just suck it up and wait the extra couple of days? Also if anyone has a particular brand to suggest, that would be great. Thanks in advance.

I've read (including a 2004 study of hpt's) that one of the best tests out there for sensitivity to hormone levels is First Response. That one is advertised as being able to be used 4-5 days before your missed period. If you google "early pregnancy tests" you should get some results that are from studies done of hpt's and how reliable they are when taken early. However, no matter what test you take, you're most likely to get a more accurate reading the closer you are to your missed period, particularly if you are after the day AF was due. The accuracy of the tests goes up drastically with each day waited, so I guess the longer you can wait the better! Even though I know that's always easier said than done!

Good luck!

Thanks! I was completely convinced I was and just took a CBE digital..of course negative. AF isn't due till Tuesday so I think it's still a little early..but seeing "not preg" wasn't exactly what I wanted to see.. Why did I take it? Why did I even do that to myself??? DH is being deployed soon so there are few chances before he leaves and we both are quite eager to start our family. I feel so silly (not to mention disappointed), both for taking it this early and for having convinced myself I was....Still crossing my fingers. Sorry just needed to vent a little I guess.
