I HAVE BEEN ON THE PILL FOR ABOUT A MONTH AND 1 WEEK. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FIRST MONTH ME AND MY BOYFRIEND WERE HAVING INTERCOURSE AND THE CONDOM CAME OFF HIM AND GOT STUCK INSIDE ME,BUT WE DIDN'T REALIZE IT AND CONTINUED TO MAKE LOVE. WELL I WAS DUE MY CYCLE ON THE 1ST OF NOVEMBER AND ABOUT 5 DAYS BEFORE THAT I SPOTTED A LITTLE BIT,SO LITTLE THAT I DIDN'T NEED TO USE ANY KIND OF SANITARY WIPE AND THEN IT WENT AWAY. NOW, I AM EXPERIENCING REALLY BAD CRAMPS IN MY LOWER PART OF MY STOMACH. COULD I BE PREGNANT OR ARE THESE JUST SIDE AFFECTS OF THE PILLS?PLEASE RESPOND

It sounds like you could have been having implantation bleeding, which would go along with pregnancy, but at the same time, it isn't unusual for the pill to play tricks with your body. At this point, a HPT would be your best bet. They detect HCG, which is a hormone produced only in pregnancy, so being on the pill wouldn't give you false positives or anything like that. Chances are, you are okay, because usullay you are pretty much safe even after a week of being on the pill (at least from what I have read on the package inserts), but it's always better to be safe than sorry. Hang in there. If you keep having problems, I would go to the doctor. You might need to be switched to a different brand of pill if your body doesn't start responding better to this one. Good luck. ~Azurea

the pill can cause spotting and cramps while your body is getting used to it, and sometimes longer for some people. when i started taking the pill, i had bad cramps and heavy bleeding for 16 days. i was honestly afraid that maybe i had just gotten pregnant before starting the pills and they had caused a miscarriage, although i've been informed that the only effect the pill would have on a pregnancy that's already there is an slightly higher risk of a masculinization on a female fetus.

i think it's probably just the pill messing with you, but if you continue to have problems, you should see your doctor. if it's going to continue to give you problems like this, he/she can switch you to a different brand. good luck!
