HI,

Thanks for all the nice information here.

A few days ago I had seen a post about early symptoms that said one is that a darkish line can develop on the lower abdomen. I have one from my belly button running from there diagnaly down. It is quite faint but definately there and I have not noticed it before. Does anyone know if this is a sign I could not find the earlier post that talks about it (something a midwife said) and I don't see this info anywhere else that I look??? I am still waiting for my period and have a few other early signs of pg. Thanks

Grace

I don't think that line shows up until late 1st tri or earlier 2nd. It could be a hormonal imbalance. Hope this hopes.

it's a hormonal thing....according to most places i've seen mention of it, it rarely shows up before the 3rd or 4th month when it's related to a pregnancy. but you also said diagonally....and now i'm confused. did you mean vertically? because it's supposed to be a line from the belly button area to the pubic area...if it ran a different direction, i would suspect it was something else entirely. (it's ok if you meant vertically....i have all kinds of issues with coming up with the right word and my husband picks on me about it all the time. *hehe*)

I think the origional post was me, I worked in maternity and the line can be a very early symptom for many women, it's not mentioned much in literature because it can show up at any time between 4 days after conception to about week 26. The only constant thing about it is that all women get it eventually.

My dad's sister got in within a week of conception for all her 3 kids, whereas for my mum it developed late.

I wouldn't have known about it at all if I hadn't worked in maternity.

I haven't gotten a confirmed preg but I have a visible line from my navel to my pubic hair that has never been there before until about 4 wks ago.

it could be an early sign, but until you get the positive test don't worry about it.

Thanks so much! The line does run down from my navel to pubic hair.

It was you angel baby I was looking all over for your name and that post but couldn't find it. It was a good one. Thanks again.

If I were pregnant would I be experiencing any CM changes this early? I would be 2+ weeks.

Let me know of anything else about this! It is hard not to wonder and worry.

THanks so much!

I'm not sure, if any changes at all you would expect to get more cm than usual. I wouldn't take cm as a sign though since it can be affected by so many things. I'm glad that my info helped someone :)

Hi! I don't know about the brown line down the abdomen. I have one too but it's always been there since I was a kid so I really can't say if it's a sign. I've never had a child or had any surgery so I really don't know what it means. But, CM is a sign of pregnancy. I did a thread on this. CM during early pregnancy is usually clear or creamy white. It varies from day to day, I'm not sure but you can look through old threads. The one I posted is called "A possible answer-CM & pregnancy". GL to you!

I also just noticed a faint line on my belly, but I am not pg since I just got my period (on time, so it's not implantation bleeding). Maybe it's always there and I never noticed until I read the post about it. I'll have to see if it's still there after AF is gone. I guess for me, it's not a "symptom".
