Hi,

My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant. My period was due on Sun., it came Sat (a day early) for 1.5 days and was really light. I took a test on Sun (14 days after OV) just to check -- it was neg. On Wed it dawned on me that my period had "disappeared" on me, so on Thurs am I took a pregnancy test. The contol line came immediately, and the pregnancy line came in very faintly afterwords (it was there -- my husband saw it!). It didn't even start to show until the 3-5 min mark. I tried the same the next morning with the same result. That day I took a urine test at my doctor's. The lab tech said it was neg and showed me the test very briefly. But, it has suddenly occured to me that she didn't wait the full 3 min. I know a line is a line, but can it show that late? The tech gave me an extra test to take home and I tried again (it's like day 20 after OV), and I got the same faint result starting at the end of the 3rd minute (w/ the control line popping up nice and dark right away)! I notice that the tests wick the urine through the pregnancy window before the control window. Can the p-line come in later than the control? Ack. Help. Thanks!

PS. When I say OV, I'm not entirely sure, since we did not do OV testing -- just targeted the 10 days around where it should fall on the calendar.

you probably are...any line whether faint or not is a positive...and three minutes isn't long. Chances are you're just early. The further along you get, the quicker the line will appear and the darker pink it will be. With one of my kids, I was just waiting to see if I was pregnant when I got the positive test at home. IT was really early. And I went immediately to the doctor, and their tests were negative. The redid them the next week and they were positive. You're probably just early...you have to have the pregnancy hormone to get the test to react at all (especially as many as you've taken!:O) )...and you wouldn't have the pregnancy hormone in you unless...:O) Good luck...let us know here at the boards when you know for sure...but sounds like you already do!! SO, I couldn't wait til Mon, I ran out and got a First Response (per the article on the best test) -- 2 pink lines! Clearly visible and emerging at the same time! Huzzah. Thanks again for the help and encouragement. By the way, the First response is more sensitive to HCG (6.5 MiU) than the urine test my doctor uses (25 miU).
