I just took a test last night and within about 5 minutes or so, saw a very faint line showing I was pregnant. Well of course I sent my husband out to get one of the name brand test (he got ept) and took that, I had no line with this test. So, then I got up this morning and went to the store and bought the same one I had last night and once again within 5-10 minutes it showed a very faint line (the test says you may read it up to 15 minutes). What should I do? Is it possible to have a positive result on one test and a negative on another? Am I pregnant since I had a couple of faint lines? Please help, we have been trying to get pregnant for awhile now, so I really hope I am pregnant!!!

How many DPO are you? And exactly which HPTs are you taking? (What brand is giving you the positive?) Different brands detect different levels of HCG in your blood, so it's possible the brand giving you a positive is more sensitive than your EPT... which would make you pg, girlfriend!

To be sure, call your doctor first thing tomorrow AM and try to get in for a blood test. That should solve it!

Good luck to you!

The very same thing happened to me -- w/ a Wal-mart test and w/ the test my doc gave me to take home. (See my posting under "faint line at 3 min"). Try the First Response test (it's more sensitive than the others), and make sure you haven't peed for a while (at least 4 hours). When I tried FR test, I got a pos line at the same time as the control! Good luck, and let me know how it turns out!!

I would definitely get to your doc and have them do a blood test.. I was always told that if you have a positive line be it faint or vivid.. that you are pregnant.. because the test is designed to detect hcg in your system.. and if this test is giving you a faint line its obviously detecting hcg in your system.. But get your doc to do a blood test and then you will know for sure! BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!! * fingers are crossed for you* lets us know what happens

Just wanted to confirm what the past person said....I had a faint line and my test didn't say anything about a faint line...so I went to the doctor and they said that any line means you have the Hcg hormone and are pregnant. :-) Good luck!
