Is there any relationship between a very faint line and low hormone levels? At this point, I estimate I am about 5-6 weeks pregnant. I tested last week and twice since. I took my most recent test this morning and the line on a First Response test was very, very faint. In fact, perhaps the faintest so far. So, I am wondering if this is an indication of low hormone levels. Also, I have no symptoms, other than sore breasts.

I don't see my Dr. until Sept. 10. Do you think requesting a blood test before then is advisable?

I am in the same boat! Just found out I am 4-6 wks.(not sure because of late periods) Anyway, I took two tests last Fri - one so faint I had to hold it in the light to see the line, the other neg. Then I took one this Thurs. Again very faint, though not as faint as the first. I went to the OB and had another just to make sure - another very faint pos. I asked the nurse if it was a bad sign. She laughed and said "That depends, were you hoping to be pregnant?" I said that I thought faint lines meant low hormones, but she assured me that faint lines mean pregnant and nothing more. She said you cannot tell how much hCG you have by the lines on the pregnancy test. The other nurse also said that she tested at 6 wks first thing in the morning and got a line so faint she had to call a neighbor to come look at it to make sure, and her pregnancy turned out fine. According to everyone I've asked, faint lines are faint only because it's early in the pregnancy. So... congratulations! Good luck and enjoy!
