Feeling Stupid but help please?

***Advance apology for long-windedness*** I'm on Ortho-Evra *the patch* and I have been for almost a year. Before that I was on Orth-Tri Cycline *bah* for 3 years. I haven't missed a patch yet, but I'm having some pregnancy symptoms. Let's go for some background info. About a month and a half ago, I was on antibiotics *two courses* for a cold/cough I couldn't get rid of. Well, I spent most of the month of August on antibiotics. I was still feeling pretty crappy when it came time to take the patch off for the week, and I didn't feel like dealing with the period, so I just slapped on another patch and skipped it. Could I theoretically gotten pregnant in that time and not known it? I'll be due for my next period on Monday, but I've been feeling nauseated all day long, and extra hungry. *I can't stop eating.* I'm urinating all the time, and I'm tired. Should I just go to the doctor and have them do a blood test? *Military insurance, we don't have to pay for doctor's visits.* Thanks for the help. Sorry about the length.

You absolutely could be pregnant. The antibiotics you were taking cancel out your birth control. That is how a lot of women get pregnant on the pill (patch now too). You need to go and get a test (HPT or blood). Good luck.

Hello there, my advice is to wait. I think that your body is reacting that way because you didn't give it the weeks break. I was on the patch for a few months and had terrible pregnant like symptoms. Nausea and extreme headaches. I wouldn't panic just yet, but if it is possible stop the patch on your next change date and let your period come and then begin all over like a regular month. If your period doesn't come then test. Good Luck.
