First Month off BC - need info...

Anyone know what kind of things happen to your body the first month off BC? I was taking aleese 28 (the pill) and got off last month on my LMP (Sep. 21st). Here is my dilema. I used to be irregular - anywhere from 30-35 days on my cycle, the pill of course made me 28 days. But I was only on the pill for 5 or 6 months. This month does anyone know what I can expect my cycle to be? We had sex on the 5th, 11th, and 19th of this month (I know a pitiful sex life) and I'm trying to figure out if I was fertile any of those times. But I'm not sure what cycle my body would have been on so I also don't know when to expect my AF. Argh. I hate BC. Thanks for whatever you can tell me.

I don't know. I'm fighting these symptoms. LOL. I don't wnat to blow things out of porportion which I am so good at doing :)

My boobs have been super sore since about 3 days ago but sometimes they get sore a week before my period (they didn't off the pill but once I was on it they did) and I do eat ALL day but I'm also really bored and not much else to do. LOL.

I would like to be and not. I'm 50/50 on this. But I just wnat to know.

Rachel -

I just found this board and haven't posted yet, but your post caught my attention. I can tell you my experience and hopefully you can relate. I was on the pill for about 4 mos, having been on the patch before that. I stopped taking my pill Aug. 26th, as my DH & I decided to try for another child. I got AF on the 28th and she stuck around for longer than usual (about 9 days) I have always been irregular also, so I was waiting for the next AF before I tried figuring my cycle out. Well it never came, and it was my understanding that that may happen when your body is coming off the evil BCP. So, I went to my midwife and she gave me a prescripstion for Provera about 3 weeks ago. The pharmacy screwed up and didn't know exactly what I was supposed to be given. So I never got the prescription filled. On a whim a couple days later, I took an HPT. it turned out positive. So after being off BCP for a month and a half, we got prego. I hope this helps you out a little. I was getting frustrated as well and then....pregnant.

Good luck!

Aimy

p.s. sorry it got a little long.

Rachel,

I FEEL your frustration! It sounds like the only difference in our situations is that I was on the pill for about 6 years. I mainly went on bc to help regulate my cycles (I was very very irregular - anywhere from no AF for a month, all the way to having no AF for 6 months once). I stopped bc mid-September (LMP 9/11). I am now almost officially two weeks late, and there is noooo sign of AF. I called the doc's office yesterday, and at first it sounded like she was going to send me to the lab to take a blood test, but then she came back to say "It isn't unusual for cycles to be really screwed up when you're just coming off the pill. Give it two more weeks, and if AF hasn't shown up, then take a test and let us know the results." NOT what I wanted to hear. I hate not knowing what is going on right now. I just want to know what "normal" is!! I can totally sympathize with you. This waiting and not knowing is killing me. ARGH!

Keep us posted on how you're doing... Good luck =)

I called my clinic and said I was planning on getting a flu shot (which is true) and I needed to know if I was PG right away but it was too early for HPT - so I'm getting a blood test taken first (TOMORROW - I CAN"T WAIT!!!!)
