The fluttering! Please help.

Ok, so I have read a plethora of messages about this strange fluttering feeling in the uterus area, but so far none has really helped me. I woke up this morning at 9 am and immediately felt this strange rumbling in my uterine area. I brushed it off as gas, but it still has not quit, and it's now 7 pm! It is the weirdest sensation. It comes about every minute or two, and it is always in the same place. I am also rather bloated and irritable, and I have had this weird taste in my mouth for the past few days. It's very possible I am pg, as even though I am on bcp, I have been taking antibiotics and I also missed a couple pills at the beginning of my pack. I really just want to know how many people have experienced this, or if any moms consider this as a sign that they are pg? Like, if you have been pg before, have you gotten this symptom, and is it a sign for you that a baby is in your future? Many thanks.

Hey--

I am so glad that someone else is feeling the same thing as me! I also have tried looking this online! Well, I AM pg. and it feels like fluttering or bubbles...just weird.
When are you going to test?

Well, I tested yesterday, but I'm not even supposed to get my period until a week from now, so I don't know whether that has anything to do with it, but it came up negative. Still, I've got that bubbling feeling. It hasn't gone away yet. I have another test waiting for a week from now, if I don't bleed. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Usually you can't feel movement from your baby until 16-22 weeks, so I wouldn't use that feeling as an indicator you are PG. But us women are pretty in tune to our bodies, so you could still be pg!

i actually have been on antibiotics recently too and am confused as to whether i AM or am not prego.(1600mg's a day for a sinus infection) and my dr. says that there isn't any substantial evidence that antibiotics-even in greater amounts-has any effectiveness on the pill. not sure if i believe it though....? i've been searching for more info. on antibiotics and the pill, and can't come up with anything? HOWEVER, i have been prego before and know that the "fluttering" feeling doesn't come until you are at least 12 weeks... that is when you can really first feel the baby. and that's what they call it, fluttering.

I don't, under any circumstances, think that the feeling is baby movement. I am well aware of just how miniscule a baby would be at this point. I was more wondering whether it could be any uterine movement caused by a change in my body due to pregnancy, like my uterus expanding or something like that. I was just wondering if anyone else had felt this before they knew they were pregnant. Anyway, it has pretty much stopped (after 3 or 4 days), so I guess I just wait the extra few days I have til I bleed and see what's up.

Hello,

this is what I have read....too early for expanding discomfort this early, happens during 2nd trimester. The cause is Round Ligament Pain. Receive info below from this site but you can do a search and find more http://www.babycenter.com/refcap/pregnancy/prenatalhealth/204.html

Round ligament pain
Round ligament pain is generally a brief, sharp, stabbing pain or a longer-lasting, dull ache that you may feel on one or both sides of your lower abdomen or deep in your groin, usually starting in your second trimester. It happens when the ligaments that support your uterus in your pelvis stretch and thicken to accommodate and support its growing size. You may feel a short jabbing sensation if you suddenly change position, such as when you're getting up from a bed or chair or when you cough, roll over in bed, or get out of the bathtub. Or you may feel a dull ache after a particularly active day, if you've been walking a lot or doing some other physical activity. Call your caregiver if this discomfort continues even after you've rested

it could be slight gas, I hope its not but it would be too early for fetal movement or your uterus to be expanding. keep in mind I have never been prego so I cant say from experience.

Good Luck!
~Lisa

ohhh.. ok, you threw me for a loop when you used the term "fluttering"..
as far as uterine changes, i'm sure that it is possible, but i personally didn't feel that when i was pregnant.. when i was prego,i felt like a sharp shooting crampy feeling on just ONE side of my lower belly.. and sometimes, it hurt so bad for a split second, i thought i might be having an ectopic pregnancy. the one time, i actually DID go to the ER, they advised me that this feeling was normal... good luck! hope it turns out how you want :)

Well, now I know I'm not pregnant, so I don't know exactly what it was. It sure was weird, though. Thanks everyone for your help!
