I went on my OB.GYN's website to found this about HPV...
there actually is a vacccine... i didnt know this!!!

The Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) Vaccine
Cervical Cancer
And You..

In the very near future, cervical cancer may be a disease of the past. A recent vaccine breakthrough provides protection against Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). HPV is the virus responsible for causing cervical cancer in women.

Naturally, this vaccine only provides protection for young women who have not become sexually active and thereby have never been exposed to HPV. Fortunately, some women despite being sexually active, have never been exposed to Human Papilloma Virus.

Clearly, these women will also benefit from the HPV vaccination. Although the need for pap smears may not be completely eliminated in the near future, cervical cancer deaths in women may decline dramatically.

If you are interested in possibly receiving the Human Papilloma Virus Vaccination, call us to schedule an appointment at your earliest convince.

The vaccine is a wonderful breakthough. However, the sad part is most of us ( a very high percentage) carry Oral Herpes therefore aren't canidates for the HPV (genital) vaccine. At least our kids will be safe though. I was told by a physician that most children get oral herpes from adults (though them kissing the child.) From what she told me if the child has oral he/she also is not a canidate for the vaccine. So if they get the shot it early that would probably prevent both types before we give it to them.
