I'm only 20 years old..and my very best friend (who is 18) found out just a few weeks ago that she was pregnant. A few days after she told me the news, she ended up having a miscarriage. She called me from work and I went to the hospital with her, and stayed with her throughtout the night and next day because she was very upset (she had decided to keep the baby).
The irony in all of this, is that because I was away from home for two days, I forgot to take my birth control pills. I have been using ortho tri cyclin for about 1.5 years, and have never had any trouble with it. I regret to say that I had sex both of the days that I forgot to take my pills ( I should clarify and say that I went two full days without taking birth control pills, and on those two days I had sex). It's silly, considering that my friend had gotten pregnant. I should have been more cautious especially, but since so much was going on, I wasn't really thinking about myself and it slipped my mind. I realized my mistake on the third day and took two pills, two days in a row, to correct this. A few days after, I noticed very light spotting lasting two days, but it was pink and came with only very light cramps. I became concerned and read the instructions that came with my pills. According to it, if you miss two pills in a row, you could become pregnant in the following 7 days after missing them...
so now I'm afraid because I had sex almost every night after missing those two pills.
Does anyone know the odds of becoming pregnant while on birth control pills if you miss two of them and don't use a backup method? I can't find any information and I'm afraid that the spotting I experienced might have been implantation bleeding...
If anyone can point me to a website with information, or share their own knowledge, I would really appreciate it!

I got pregnant TWICE while taking ortho tricyclen and missing only a couple of pills. I would wait until your period is due and take a pregnancy test. Keep us posted on what you find out.
