Hey everyone...I posted the other night about possibly being pregnant, but unsure because I'd had 2 negative HPT's. I still have the symptoms I had before (nausea, tired, irritable, trouble sleeping, hot flashes.....), but today, I started my "period." It isn't normal, though. It's lighter than usual, and (not to be gross) but kinda mucusy? I'm not sure if this means I'm not PG. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'd wait until the bleeding or spotting stops and take a HPT. Could be IB.

I'm not sure what your timing is, but there is something called implantation bleeding which is spotting, not exactly like your AF that occurs during implantation. At the implantation phase (if I have this right) your body starts producing HCG which is the hormone pregancy test detect. There's some great articles here on ivillage (check out the 10 signs of pregnancy one on the pregnancy page) to help you figure out what's going on with your body. You may want to do a pregnancy calendar because I found the information invaluable and it also provides easy links to other places in ivillage.

Good luck!! and double check me or someone please post if I got this wrong!!

Thank you both for your responses..I had sex Sept. 20th and October 1st. Arounf October 12th, I thought I started my period, but it was brownish and lasted only a day. I Was supposed to start AF 2 or 3 days ago. Have been having pregnancy symptoms for about 2 weeks. Sorry I left this out.

Megan,

I would definately contact your dr. The bleeding sounds somewhat similar to what happened to me, although I did not have as many pg symptoms as you. But it turned out that I was pg, but was having a m/c. My Hcg levels were so low that it was undetectable on a HPT. It wasn't until my Dr. ordered a quantitative HCG (blood pg test) that I learned that I was indeed pregnant. This happened 2 months in a row. Don't panic either way until you see your dr.

Good Luck and I hope it turns out the way you want it to...
