How do you REALLY Know(besides the test)

I have been on the pill for about 9 years and I stopped taking it at the end of August because my husband was worried I wouldn't be able to get pregnant next summer when we want to start trying. I had my period at that time(Aug 28) and have not had another since (its been almost 6 weeks!) I am not sure if this is normal for stopping the pill or if it means something. I have also been super tired lately, but I can't tell if its because of work (I'm an elementary school teacher) or because i wake up at night a lot (which is nothing new). I have no other signs of anything and don't want to go buy a test everytime I feel weird. Looking for advice from people in similar situations!

I've never been on the pill for more than 1-2 cycles so I am not sure... My sister's period was TOTALLY screwed up after she got off the shot and she didn't have a period for months sometimes. It took her years to get her body straight from all of it and to get pregnant again.

I know the pill helps regulate, so it could be that the absence of the pill has thrown your body off and it's reacting by not having your period.

HOWEVER...
I would test just in case. If you come up negative I would go see a DR just to be sure everything's okay or at least call for consultation. You can never be too safe especially if you want to start trying next year!!
Good luck to you!

I would defanitly test. if not for anything else then for peice of mind. I will tell u that I used to be really regular but after taking birth control getting off it and having two kids I am so not regular anymore. well, I wasnt. hahaha. I agree that u should go see ur doctor just to make sure that everything is in order. Hope I helped some.

I stopped taking the pill in june or july. i had a normal cycle, then a 39 day cycle. my last period was august 24.... have been to the doctor last week and did a test- negative. Doctor said it could be irregular cycles after coming off the pill, or it may be that im pregnant and just not coming up in the test yet. I have to do another test in two days time....
In the last 3 days I have come down with flu like symptoms, really tired, blocked nose, headaches, sore throat. it could be all unrealated.. i guess i'll find out soon
