My friend met this woman a month ago. They first had sex on October 14th. Her last period was October 6th. On October 25th she tested herself (using a first response home pregnancy test) and claims to be pregnant with his baby. Can this be possible?

Hi there...those dates are definitely feasible. Escpeically if she has a short cycle. If she was ovulating on the day they had sex (the 14th), some pregnancy tests can detect pregnancy as early as 4 days before a missed period, which could be about 10 days after ovulation. So on the 25th, she could have actually been 11 days post ovulation.

I'm still a little confused - as this preganancy test was done 15 days into her cycle - 10 days before her missed period (given a 28 day cycle) - she did tell me she has a "normal" monthly cycle. We are amazed that this pregancy test can be so sensitive!

oops...my bad...I meant the test was taken 19 days into her cycle but - 10 days before her period should have been due.

It's still not out of the realm of possiblity.. if she ovulated early (as opposed to the "typical" day 14, she still could have had a positive test result. Some women can get (+) as early as 9 days past ovulation...
