well, im 4 days late, and i feel like im PMSing (crying, sleepy, mild sore boobs, min cramps, just yucky feeling) Im debating on taking a home preg. test or wait. I thought i was pregant a few months ago and got my hopes up, I ended up not being pregant and I dont want to get my hopes up again. How soon did yall find out you were pregant after you missed, or period was late?

Nancy,
I'm just curious. even tho you had gotten a negative result you said you knew you were pregnant. how did you KNOW? were you having symptoms? a friend of mine said she knew she was pg RIGHT after she conceived both her children. can you elaborate?
thanks!

Hi Nancy,

I knew with my son too.. I tested on the day of my missed period and I just knew it was going to be positive.. we are trying for no. 2 and I'm not sure.. we tried last month and I knew I wasn't, but was hoping and got the BFN - this month I feel like I am but it could just be wishful thinking...

And for the person who started this thread... I would test - what do you have to lose! ;)

I just happened to visit this board after going online to find a list of early pregnancy symptoms and thought I'd add my story because it's sort of different.

I have an 11-month old son and I didn't find out that I was pregnant until I was already 11 or 12 weeks along! I missed my first trimester altogether! My period was really irregular and we weren't trying so I ignored a lot of pretty obvious symptoms and signs like sore breasts, lack of period, food aversions and so on. I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and had been told that it would probably be a challenge to get pregnant so I thought that the symptoms were related to a hormonal imbalance instead, and was feeling sort of depressed about it. Anyway, the test was immediately positive so I did the obvious and ran out to the drugstore to buy a different brand of test! When that was positive too, I went to the doctor to have another test to confirm. She laughed at me when she asked if I was having any symptoms and I listed the two missed periods and two positive pregnancy tests, and I was still in denial! I was so shocked and incredulous, but once we got used to the idea, we were thrilled, and becoming a mother is the best thing that I've ever done.

I'm nursing my son so my period just returned in September and we're thinking about trying to conceive again. Now I'm in the middle of my cycle though and having some spotting and crampiness. It's hard to know whether it's because my cycle is becoming as irregular as it was before having my son, or whether it's possible that we did actually conceive this month.

Hello there...

I knew the week that I was due for my period that something was different. I got all the same signs of PMS except my cramping was MUCH milder. I felt the same way, wanting to be pregnant, but not wanting to be disappointed. I asked my doctor to do the test, they said they would do a blood test because it was more accurate. I took that test 1 week after my missed period, and it was positive!! Best wishes. Michelle

I found out 6 days before a missed period. I used the preg test that says pregnant or not pregnant. You should test.
