I am one day past Oing and I had half of a turkey sandwich for lunch today.... I just read that deli meats can cause miscarriage. I wish I had read this earlier, I feel sick about this now! My common sense tells me that half of a sandwich cannot be so bad, but I am really nervious.

I think you should be just fine. Only one day after Oing, if you did conceive, implantation has probably not happened yet. Listen to your common sense. Half of a sandwich is not going to hurt anything. I ate sandwich meat all throughout my pregnancy without problems. Never heard this finding. Are you sure it's valid? Don't stress out-- just relax. Enjoy the pre-conception time-- a +HPT will visit you soon, I'm sure!

Thank you for reassuring me. This was the article that I read:

I know that I am overreacting to this, but I have tried to be as healthy as possible during this time. I'm sure I won't avoid everything, but I had never heard of this one until today. Uhhh the stresses of TTC !!!!

I think that it is awesome that you are so concerned about the health of your baby. There is so much to be worried about when TTC and when pg, especially when you are a first time mom. With my first pg, I was freasked out because I changed the cat litter box one time when my husband was out of town since that can also hurt the fetus if a certain bacteria gets into your system. I wouldn't worry about the sandwich, I am sure you will be fine since what are the chances of that particular meat you ate to have Listeria, but it will just be a reminder for the next time to make sure it's heated first!
Good luck on TTC!

Hello,

I wouldnt worry...you can pretty much anything in small quantities..including tuna and sushi. You can still enjoy turkey sandwiches. If it makes you feel better buy turkey breast and make your own.
