i had a normal period starting aug 20 (on time). it lasted 6 days, starting light, getting heavy the second day, then tapering off. i started feeling "sick" around september 6th (i only know the date because i left work early because of it). i started feeling very tired, having headaches off and on, and being sick to my stomach off and on. i thought i probably just hadn't been getting enough sleep and had a bug.
my next period started on time, sep 17. this one lasted 6 days also, but was two light days, one slightly heavy day, one sort of normal day, then two more light days. it was lighter in color than normal and didn't seem as thick. somewhere around the 28th (don't know for sure), i started having mild cramps in my lower abs and lower back. also, over the month following, i had spotting after sex a few times, and i've never experienced that before.
my next period should have started oct 15, but i started spotting oct 12. nothing to warrant even a liner, though. then, on the 15th, i had a "normal" flow (when i say "normal", i mean i can use a regular absorbancy pad...which i usually only can the first and last day or two) which has tapered off. today, the 19th, i don't even need a liner anymore.
the nausea hasn't completely gone away, but it hasn't been as bad or been occuring as often. i am still having headaches, but for awhile it was pretty much non-stop, and now it's just for an hour or two at a time. i did take a home pregnancy test a few days ago (in the evening - just couldn't wait) and it came back negative. i really don't know if that's a realistic possibility or not, but it was one thing i could think of that i could check for myself. also, i've resorted to wearing pajama pants and overalls most of the time because all but about 3 pairs of pants have gotten too tight within the last month and a half or so. i've gained around 5-7 pounds (maybe a little more - 10 at the most), but my % body fat has actually gone down about a 1%. (i was taking an aerobics class and we did fitness tests.) i seem to be craving meat more (i used to be a vegitarian, so i can normally go a week without eating any meat before i start to "crave" it), but other than that, my eating habits haven't changed. if all my jeans still fit, i'd just assume i'd gained some muscle!
i have had a few other typical pregnancy symptoms, but i think i might be imagining them, so i haven't listed them here. all i know is that i normally don't get nausious unless i'm sick or have just smelled something gross (like bad tomatoes or sour milk), i've never before had headaches for more than a couple days in a row, even when i had mono, and i've never before had cramps unless i was on my af, and then they'd be bad cramps that would last for maybe a half hour at a time and just for a couple of days.
i'm supposed to start my next pack of pills today, but i'm not going to to see if any of my "symptoms" go away. i'm really hoping that that's what's causing them (or else that i do turn out to be pregnant). i honestly can't think of anything specific that seems like it could be causing these symptoms. i do intend to see a doctor if i'm still not feeling normal within a couple weeks - sooner if something happens to make me think that there's something seriously wrong.
just a side note on the pills - i rarely miss one, although i do sometimes take them at different times, but not often. and i've heard/read that weight has an effect on how effective they are - supposedly 60% less effective on someone who's BMI is over 30 (that would mean that if the normal failure rate was 3%, it'd be 7% then, right? i really hope it doesn't mean if normal is 3%, then it's 63%!). i had to figure it out after i read that and mine's about 40. my husband and i just started using condoms after i decided to not start my next pack; we were relying only on the pills before.
but anyway, any advice or insight is more than welcome and will be highly appreciated!!!!
