Hi all.........just finished reading up on the topic about symptoms and I am wondering what everyone's take on it is. If we are feeling all these unusual symptoms and are not PG then why would we feel these things? Are unusual cramps a sign of something wrong? It just scares me a little to think that if I am not PG there is definately something going on down there and I am not quite sure what it would be........ Any thoughts on this would be appreciated!

I have often wondered the same thing so I did a little bit o' research....I found out that the hormones that are invovled with AF are the same hormones involved with being pg, but in different amounts. And since everyone's body has a different reaction to the hormones (some people get sore bb's before AF while others break out etc) it is hard to tell which syptoms you specifically might get when you are pg. I have heard time and time again that the only way to tell is by charting your tempurature through out your cycle and when you have 18 consecutive higher temps after ovulating, then you are probably pg. You of corse can also take a hpt, but that doesn't always show up right away. I really wish that I could tell you things from first hand experience, but I am still working on that! I hope that helps. Best of luck to you!

Thanks for the reply........I figured we all react differently from friends and family that I have spoken to......thank you for the confirmation :). Do you think someone not being PG and feel like they had PG symptoms would mean that something bad was going on? My mom got me kinda freaked out cuz she said that she thought cramping if you were pregnant was a bad sign, whereas I had read that it is just your uterus contracting.......just confused........

No prob! As far as the cramping it just depends. Sometimes IBS (irritable bowel sydrome) can cause cramps that feel sorta similar to AF, but it can be really bad gas due to the stress of ttc. Also implantation can feel kinda like AF is coming. I have tested 3 times, the first was 10 dpo and I got a BFN. However that very afternoon I had very strange (not painful) cramping just below my belly button. I tested again yeterday, the day AF was due (seeing how I didn't have my "typical" symptoms) and I got a very faint +, but that was mid day....I was impatient! So this morning I took another with all the FMU I could muster up at 4:30am (when my husband woke up to go to work) and I got another slightly darker faint +. I still don't belive it, but they say "a line is a line." We will see!

Kelly, if you took the test twice and got a faint line both times, it's probably safe to say you are pregnant. The next step is to get a blood test to confirm but it definately sounds like you have a positive line. Congrats and let us know the final outcome!
