Alrighty girls....I o'd about a week and a half ago ish.....yesterday morning I had about an hour of bright red bleeding...pretty thin...

My AF usually starts off as brown. This was an hour of red and then nada. I thought it was weird, and then I started to read about implantation bleeding and am wondering if maybe thats what it is....or if I'm just getting my hopes up for nothing. Thoughts? Anyone have it? Anyone THOUGHT they had it and it was just a weird AF??

I could be wrong, but I don't think implantation bleeding is supposed to be red... I think it's usually pinkish or brown. It should also happen about 5-7 DPO, so I'm not sure if a week and a half is too late...

Sorry I don't really have any answers for you. I'd suggest waiting a few days and taking an HPT to be sure, but in the meantime here are some articles from IVillage.

Good luck to you!

I would suspect implantation bleeding if it occurs a bit earlier than expected, if it were scanty, spotty, pinkish and not red and heavy like a period, and does not follow the normal pattern of a period (light to heavy to light).

The BBT should remain elevated and not decline to preovulatory levels.

There is often the feeling that it is a period with light cramps and bloating, but the bleeding is shorter, lighter and just not normal.

If a woman is usually regular, and now all of a sudden develops this type of early spotting, and of course is "at risk" for a pregnancy, I would strongly suspect conception.

Five days post ovulation would be just about right for implantation. Of course, there are other things that can cause such a discharge, but in view of the fact that you are trying to get pregnant, this seems like a good explanation.

most other things I've read say that implantation happens from 5-10 dpo so who knows.....and also everything I've read says that brown is in idicator of old blood, while any implantation bleeding would be red or pink, and fresh.

Who knows.....I really have no option other than to wait it out!!

Hi. It very well could be implantation bleeding. The key things to look for or ask yourself is: -did you bleed earlier than your expected period?

-how long did the bleeding last for?- typically implantation bleeding lasts for a couple hours to a couple days.

-is it lighter than a normal period?

- did you experience any mild cramping during this time?

These are all indications that it may have been implantation bleeding.

I would definitely take a pregnancy test on the day your period is expected to show up.

Good Luck....

Hello!

Could I be pregnant? I started my last period on the 15th of this month and stopped bleeding on the 21st. That night my hubby and I had unprotected sex and I started to spot a brown discharge on the 27th to even this day Sept 1st. Isn't it too early for me in my cycle to be having implantation bleeding? I am hoping that I am pregnant. This would be my second time around. I now have a 18 month old little boy. I didn't experience this my first time around so I would appreciate any advice or knowledge. I'm excited and unsure at the same time.

Looking forward to any comments... :-)
