Irregular periods, preg. symptoms...

Hello Everyone,

New here, I am 27, I have 2 boys (ages 3, almost 4 and 2 1/2) My DH got a vasectomy right after our second child was born, but never went back to get his sperm tested to make sure there were no sperm in there. For the past five months or so, I get pregnancy symptoms before every period, which is extremely frustrating. This time feels different. My DH thinks its all in my head and is getting very frustrated with me. I have irregular periods anyway, so I think its too early to tell (last period was about 9/29) But this time, I have the nausea, sore breasts, darker areola along with more veins showing (that usually does not happen before my period) very tired, peeing all the damn time, and here is the weird thing: the last two times I have been pregnant, my nipples get very tingly, and I get shooting pains in the cold weather. It has never happened any other time. No shooting pains yet, but tingly nipples again. And I just feel pregnant. Every other time this happens, although I have a few symptoms and complain about them to my DH, I know I am going to get AF, call it intuition or I don't know, but this time, I just really think I am pregnant. This happened when I got pregnant with my second baby. Tests came back negative in the beginning, but I just knew... Anyway, waiting for a call from my doctor, and hopefully we can do a blood test this time....Any feedback or shared experiences would be much appreciated as I feel like I am going insane here. Thanks for "listening"

Hi Lisa,

I posted a message on this board about a month ago with the same discussion title...I don't have any answers for you because I still haven't figured out what is going on...I have very irregular periods. For 10 days last August I was convinced I was pregnant. I had all the signs: bloating, nausea, extreme tiredness, darkened areola, veiny and sore breasts, and what looked like implantation bleeding for a couple of days - very light pink spotting, ...I did two home preg tests during that time and both were neg so I went to the hospital worried it was something else...I had an ultrasound done the next day (day 11) and no cysts were found or any other abnormalities. the next day the symptoms had almost completely gone away except for dark areola and a lot of white discharge throughout Sept. Early Oct. the symptoms came back with a vengeance for a couple of weeks- the symptoms have tapered off some - I don't have too much nausea anymore, but my lower stomach is bloated and 'hard' and my breasts are extremely sensitive and I am very tired...I went back to the doctor last week - did another urine sample (neg) and was sent to the hospital to have a battery of blood tests done for pregn., thyroid, liver function, etc. etc. (haven't got the results yet)...for the past few days I have had light brownish discharge...most days I KNOW I'm pregnant and other times I am so worried that it may be something else because so many tests have come back negative...Anyway, sorry for this long story...I just wanted to share my experience with you...Can you let me know how things turn out for you?

Good luck and take care!

Well I don't know what to say really, except I went through the same thing recently. In the end, I was never pregnant, but am for sure now. Had all the syptoms and just felt pregnant, and as time went on my belly even got quite enlarged in the lower part, had only one pair of pants left and so on. But then I finally got a BFP, and within days I started getting very strong syptoms and even though I havin't been to the doctor I am sure I just got pregnant, its been a few weeks since i found out....and now my belly is shrinking back to normal slowly. So I don't know what was the problem before and probably never will know, I am starting to suspect that I may have had a large cyst or something though, at one visit to the doctor during this, I went to Planned Parenthoos and the lady said she thought I may have had PCOS and never gave much explanation, but I'm thinking she must have felt enlarged ovarys or something and put it with my symptoms. In any case, I hope you get an answer soon, and I would also ask DH to go get that sperm count done, just to be sure. Let him know that it will help you not to worry about pregnancy if you know for sure.

Hello,

Just wanted a little clarificaton on your situation...you said you had all the pregnancy symptoms but it turned out you weren't pregnant afterall - but now you found out that you are pregnant...? How long was it between not being pregnant (and having all the symptoms) and then becoming pregnant...? Are you sure these two situations are not connected...?

thanks!
