Is it possible??

Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to get pregnant on the birth control pill. I have been on the pill for 5 yrs and I have never missed a day. My boyfriend and I are very careful, we also use condoms to prevent pregnancy. For the past few months I have been experiencing cramping (not during my period), delayed, very short and light periods (very unusal (sp?) for me.) I feel like I have gained a bit of weight... Also, I get nauseas from time to time. For the past few months all I have been thinking is that I am pregnant even though I have never really wanted children !! I know that I should just take a test but I am really scared. My boyfriend and I have recently parted ways. I guess my question is....is it possible to get pregnant on the pill if I haven't missed a day?

Hi!
It's possible but extremely unlikely, especially if you were also using condoms. The chance of getting pregnant on the pill when taken correctly is 1 in 100 and this goes down if you are also using condoms. The stress of worrying is probably wreaking havoc on your hormones and your body. If it will make you feel better, take a test, and I would bet it would be negative. Then you can relax and hopefully your cycles will go back to normal. Good Luck and I hope everything works out for you!
