lack of cervical mucus

I'm sorry, I know that title is a little grotesque but I couldn't think of what else to put at the time. Okay, so I'm not sure if I'm complicating this more than it actually is but: my ovulation is usually pretty regular although the timing of my period varies. I say this in reference to the cervical mucus that I get around the time I ovulate and I also usually cramp sometime around ovulation. Anyhow, I was due for ovulation this past Wednesday or so. My husband and I had sex on Monday, and I have not had any change in cervical mucus nor cramping to indicate that I ovulated. It may be possible I ovulated anyhow and just had no signs this time perhaps but is it possible that the symptoms did not show if conception occurred earlier in the week? Or would ovulation occur as normal even after conception occurs and just the bleeding part of the cycle does not? Does that make sense? I have a week before I can test and the anticipation is driving me insane. Thanks.

I do not have an answer to your question, but I'm hoping someone does because my situation is very similar this month. DH and I are not trying to get preggo, we have a DD 5 and DS 2, but right now our BC is pull n pray. I am also usually very regular, lots of CM at CD 13-15. We BD on JUne 21, and I told him not to pull out because it was 6 days before I was suppose to ovulate. On the 22 and 23, I had some discharge not as quite as much as usual CM, but then got really dry, and then regular discharge on the days I was suppose to ovulate. I have been going crazy trying to figure out if I ovulated early, and may possibly be preggo. We were not planning on having more, but are not dead set against it as you can tell by our BC method. I just want to know.

If your normal method of BC right now is pull and pray as you put it (that's how we got our little boy of 6 months now) you're haven't had the normal discharge after. The day or two after you two are together, for me at least, there always has been a discharge that is pretty much just the excess/leftovers (I know that sounds crude sorry, but I don't know how else to put it) from him. If you had regular CM when you were supposed to ovulate then that was your ovulation. I'm not sure how valid it is but the next information came from a friend of mine studying to become an RN. She had said that sperm can actually live 5-9 days and I've read that the egg can only live about 12-24 hours so anyhow, it's still possible but you never know, it could go either way. Best way to figure it out is to wait, unfortunately, until either right before when you are supposed to have your cycle and test at home or count about 10-12 days from when you were together and test then instead. It's hard, I've got to wait until about next Saturday until I can but I'll probably do it Thursday too because it's driving me insane. We were trying to wait until at least September so that I can graduate college first before having another so I don't have to quit. I guess either I'm crazy or even though I had a somewhat difficult pregnancy last time (not healthwise but in other ways), I'm always dissappointed when it's negative even though I know I need it to be. Anyhow, look at me rambling, sorry. Hope it all works out for you.
