Light positive at six weeks?

I have been incredibly nauseated the past week and a half. My friends told me I was pregnant, but I'm on the pill (ok, so I missed a few last cycle) and I had a period two weeks ago. My husband and I have ridiculous schedules so I know the last time that we had sex (other than the most recent time that wouldn't show up yet) was Jan. 26. So this morning I took a HPT just for the heck of it, thinking it was a waste because I'm definitely not pregnant. But then I got a freaking positive. I was/am pretty shocked. But I'm also spotting (which I did with my son from week 6 to week 11) but I also stopped taking the pill last Thursday because I thought maybe it was helping me feel more nauseated on top of whatever else was making me sick.
Anyway, I went to the doctor today for a blood draw. But I won't know for a few days. I'm going to take another HPT tomorrow morning. I guess my question is, shouldn't the positive be much darker? It was light. You could definitely see it, but it was light. That would make sense at 4 weeks pregnant, but not at 6 (which is where I'd be if I were pregnant right now.)
Any thoughts?
Camille

I feel the same way. Monday I took a HTP and it was confused because it was so light. So I decided to do another a few yesterday and it came out darker. So I called the Dr. and I have an apt on Thursdays. I told my husband and I am hopeful but I do not want to get my hopes up, because you never know.
Good Luck!! I am sure the b/w will come back with good news.
