hello.
i just wanna discuss the metalic taste that occurs when pregnant, i think i might be pregnant and have had a metalic taste in my mouth for a few days, when i brush my teeth it just tastes worse.
Has this actually happened to anyone just after conception, its driving me mad, and tasted very horrible, i feel as though i have a metal mouth...... yuck..... if so how long does the taste last. even when i eat something very strong, it still comes back straight away, is this a very common symptom of pregnancy..
i would appreciate your help.
love leigha, 21

There is a high chance i could be pregnant, at first i thought i was imagining it, but as days go on, i dont think i am.
Its really horrible.. my mouth feels really weird, no matter what i do.. is this possible to happen straight after conception and did you have a real strong taste, constantly.
thanks leigha., x

Some women complain of change in their taste sensation during pregnancy, often being a metallic-type taste in their mouth.
This physical change is not often formally recognised by caregivers. However, natural therapists believe the metallic taste could be a result of the body releasing toxins through the lymphatic system (your lymph glands transport and produce your body's defence mechanisms against infection). Others believe it is the body's reaction to being run down with stress or the result of more physical demands being placed on a woman's body during pregnancy.
The unusual taste sensation is usually relieved by eating and should return to normal after the birth.
Homoeopaths may suggest remedies such as Cocculus indicus, Cuprum metallicum, Catrum carbonicum, or zinc. See your homoeopath for a remedy.
A metallic taste can also be a side affect of some medications, such as the antibiotic Flagyl.
