Shana, My sincerest prayers go out for you if you are experiencing a miscarriage. I will tell you what I experienced, I know each woman is different, so it may not happen this way for you at all. I found out I was pregnant at about 4 weeks, the very next day, I started bleeding very heavily. I called my doctor and she said it was probably just another period and not to worry but the bleeding was very very heavy. She told me if it continue the next day, to go to the hospital. Well, it did not stop, it got worse. It felt as though my insides were falling out. I went to the hospital and had a vaginal ultra-sound and the baby was in implanted in the right place, everything seemed ok. The only concern was that the baby's heart rate was low, but I was informed not be worried. A few more weeks went by, I had all the normal symptoms. At my first appt they could not find the heartbeat using the doppler but I was told not to be alarmed because it was still early. Then around 8-9 weeks, all my symptoms left, no sore breasts, not nausea, etc...I called the doctor and she said not to worry because as you near the second trimester the symptoms tapper off. The second doctor visits at 12 weeks, they could not locate the baby's heartbeat. We decided to do an emergency ultra-sound. The baby had lost it's heartbeat and was only developed to 9 weeks. I assumed I would have an immediate D&C but my doctor insisted that I wait until my next appointment which was not until next Tuesday and it was Wed. I was mortified but I assumed they knew best. That Saturday, while cooking with my sister and girlfriends, I got a sharp pain in my stomach, I assumed I had to use the washroom, I went to the bathroom, urinated and was fine. Five mintues later, I got the same cramp, I went back to the bathroom and urinated again, as I began to stand up, my water broke! Those cramps were contractions, my body was releasing the baby. There was a lot of bleeding, like soaking thick overnight maxi's in minutes. The contractions were very hard, I was in labor, a lot of back pain and cramping. I went to the e-room, there was one point where I told my mom, I needed to push and I did, and felt better, they the contractions came right back. I had a bath towel wrapped around my body in my underpants because the bleeding was heavy. I think I delivered the baby in there but the nurses never told me if that was the case. I know I felt something come out when I pushed and when the doctor examined me I was fully dialated. Eventually, they performed a D&C and it was all over. It was a very hard thing to have all those contractions and that much pain to return home with no baby. It has been over two years since then and I am just now seeking professional mental help to heal the wounds. If you are experiencing this, please seek a doctor and get some help after it is all over. if you need to talk, I am here.

With love,

Leslie

oh Leslie I'm sorry!!! Was it your first?? I'm experiencing sharpe pains in my lower left side of my abdomen, but nothing when I urinate, I did have sore nipples a few day's ago, maybe well almost a week ago, and now that's gone, I still have some waves of nausea hit me but I don't throw-up, I have terrible headaches and when I got home from the doctors yesterday I was experiencing terrible backaches but didn't think anything much of them, DH rubbed them last night and today I don't feel anything, my stomach feels really full, I feel bloated and yucky inside, those pains are back, I experienced one a week and a half ago and that was it...now they are back, started maybe an hour ago.....could my ir-regular period on Firday the 31st till Monday the 3rd be a sign of miscarriage?? It was so ir-regular I thought for sure I was pregnant, so we tested..negative, took another urine test yesterday at doctors and he say's it was clean, nothing at all there.....my period was spotting the first day, next morning alittle more, filled one tampon in 3 hours than nothing more to fill even a panty liner, than next day (sunday) nothing till around noonish and filled another tampon got a terribley ugly mucus strand about 3 inches long, black thick long stretchy (sorry if tmi) and than after that nothing more to fill a liner and than it was done and over with by Monday afternoon, tuesday and early wednesday I experienced some brown blood, but that's not uncommon since I get that the last day of my period (a reagular one) but it's only the last day so it should have only been Monday, and it continued tuesday and Wednesday) now there's nothing, but some clear white mucus when I put toilet paper up there, not when I urinate though...I will wait to see if I bleed more before my period....Thank you for your heart warming story, it must have been terrible for you! I'm terribley sorry!!!! Best of luck to you, warm wishes and happy thoughts for the future:)

mrscarta914,

When I passed the baby it started out with just bleeding but I felt very sharp pains that got really bad. I felt like I needed to push and go P. so I went to the bathroom and passed the baby that looked like a big round clump. I knew it was the baby for obvious reasons it was pretty big..about the size of a big grape mabe a little bigger. It was grayish slimy. After that my cramping died down and I felt better.(physically anyway). I havent had any kids yet. This happened last november 20th. So its been a year and we are just starting to try again. Good luck to you and the best thing to do is not stress over if you did. Just move on and keep trying.. I know its easier said than done.

I just had a m/c last week, and I'm still numb, I think. I have been TTC for over a year now, and I don't know how much more of this emotional rollercoaster I can take! It's hard enough when AF shows up every month, but then to be pg and lose it...I wonder if God is telling me to quit trying. Anyway, I was very, very early...actually I started bleeding 5 days before AF was even due. Very heavy bleeding which has lasted now for a week (normal AF is 3-4 days), had terrible back and abdominal cramping, very nauseated, dizzy spells - nearly passed out twice. Starting to feel a little better now, still have some cramps and nausea. Still have sore bb's, too. Must be the hormones.

My heart goes out to everyone who has experienced a loss...

Hi, I have had four miscarriages thus far. They have all been early miscarriages ranging from 2-10 weeks. In my experience what has happened to me is it usually starts out with heavy cramping and then heavy bleeding, dizziness and a sense of fainting, like I wanted to pass out at times, or thought I would. Although some of miscarriages have been early it still doesn't take away the sadness and loss you face when it happens. You didn't really say if you were pregnant or wanted to be, but I hope all the best for you and only send you positive thoughts. I hope this answers your question. As to what happens to the baby it basically passes through you like a period. It is to small at this point for you to see with the naked eye, so it would be like a heavy period only with probably more clotting than usual. Take Care.

This period I did have clotting but I didn't have cramps, hardly at all, and again I hardly ever have clots when I have my period, usually I'm down on the couch with cramps, but this time I didn't...It didn't hurt when I had the clots either...we're not trying to get pregnant, but a baby now we wouldn't mind, I would like to be pregnant, but we have talked about when we want to start to try having kids and it'll be next years early, so I'm excited for that....but I'm nervous for what's going on right now......this isn't regular for me.....right now I'm feeling really bloated and really full, I haven't had anything to eat since noonish maybe a littler later but it has been a few hours, I've gone to the bath room and nothing unusual has popped up....thank you for your insite, and I'm sorry for how many children you have lost...do you have any besides that???

Shana, No we don't have children, I guess that's what makes it so hard. We have been trying for a really long time and it's hard to watch my friends and recently my sister have healthy babies without feeling a complete sense of total loss. I am glad that I have a new niece and she brings me hope and happiness everyday, but I won't lie and say it hasn't been hard. I am currently waiting to see if I am pregnant again (AF two days late, but testing negative HPT)it's hard because even when i due test positive I become filled with fear that I will miscarry again. Anyway I'm sorry i don't want to scare you and it is completely natural for first time pregnancies to miscarry early, so perhaps that was your case, anyway, I hope everything works out for you the way you want it to, best of luck in your future baby making endeavours.

I am sorry kitten23, my sister tried having kids for three years and nothing happened, but there is hope! She now has two healthy baby boys, well ones a baby the others almost 3, they are so cute....seeing them makes me want a baby even more! But, hopefully our time will come soon, and your's as well!!! You sound like you really want a baby, and you sound like you'll make a great mother when that time comes, so I wish you the best of luck, and hopefully you are pregnant this time and it's a happy healthy 9 months for you and you have a beautiful baby boy or girl!!! You deserive it!! Also, I've been having sharp pains in my lower left side of my abdomen, I experienced it once but t only lasted maybe 10 minutes, this one has gone on for about 4 hours if not more....DH say's there is always the hospital to go to if anything happens or get's worse.....I'm so nervous but at the same time I want to know EXACTLY what is going on with my body, this last month things haven't be regular...best of luck...keep me informed, happy thoughts and lots of baby dust!!!
