Nausea means?

On December 26 at night and morning of 27, my ex now sorta back together boyfriend and I did the deed. No condom. I'm on the pill BUT confess to not being as timely with it as I should (b/c no idea this would happen, frankly) and also on St. John's Wort so effectiveness is a bit doubtful.

Starting last night, I've been off and on sick to my stomach. No tossing of cookies at all but instead, right after I eat, I feel ill. Started with dinner last night. Ate about 7, normal dinner, just pasta, and by 7:30, nausea. Stayed with me til I went to bed.

Woke up this morning, felt fine. Ate toast and boiled egg and within half hour, nausea. Now, its gone, about 5 hours later. We'll see about lunch.

Its been about 8 days since possible conception. It seems a bit early for this to me, but I'm clueless on it. Thoughts?

symptoms usually show up after implantation and that takes about 7-10 days after conception. you could try to test but if your hormone levels arent high enough then you will get a negative result.

Hi there... I agree with PP, might be too early to get a + on an HPT, but can't hurt to try. Good luck... let us know how you're doing.

Happened again. Midway through lunch I felt ill. I'm someone who loves food, loves to eat and this is very, very unlike me. Rather tired too.

I'm going to stop my BCP today and see if I start as I usually do on day 4-5. If not, then I'll get a test.

This won't be horrible but it will be unexpected. Luckily, I can easily afford a child on my own but my ex is a wonderful person who would be a great dad and would never let me do this on my own. But, he lives 1,000 miles away and I live 1,000 miles from my family too. So, I would do this mostly on my own, at least at first. I'm 36 too. But, at least I can honestly say I wouldn't want a child with anyone but this guy.

I'm sure I'm just coming down with a bug or something (but I haven't been sick in over 5 years . . . ). Just to be safe, I started prenatal vitamins today and no drinking until I know its safe. Do I have to give up caffeine now? I only drink one cup of coffee in the morning anyway.

Thanks for the help. If you had told me two weeks ago I'd be posting here, I'd have said you were crazy!!!

Well, I'm a big believer that things happen for a reason (or don't happen). So, if you are pg, then I'd say it was meant to be :) And as for giving up caffeine, I think one cup a day is totally ok..so long as you don't indulge in like 4 or 5 cans of soda during the rest of th day! Haha... :) I'm actually trying to get pg, and I don't intend on giving up my one cup of coffee in the morning...

Oh, thank heavens. I need my a.m. cup of coffee!!

Another question. What is the best HPT to use and how soon can I use it. I'm 100% positive that if I am pg, conception happened between 2 a.m. on the 26th and 8 a.m. on the 27th. Otherwise, this will be a miracle birth. So safe to count from the 27th at the latest (and I'd put my money on that time, frankly).

Haha...2am and 8am?? Wow! ;)

Um, I am a BIG time pee on a stick addict (POAS-addict) soooo, I tend to use the cheap ones from the $ Store, but I've read soooo many places that they are really reliable. And actualy last month I had a chemical pregnancy (a very, very early miscarriage) and one of the $ tree tests was able to give me a BFP on the same morning I got a blood test that came back borderline, which means the pregnancy was very, very early and hcg levels were less than 20mIU. Not sure how familiar you are with hcg levels and how they increase in pregnancy, but just briefly... detecing <20mIU of hcg is VERY senstive.

Sooo, after all that, I would recommend either those ones, or ifyou're a big spender, try First Response Early Response (FRER), they're about $17 for a 2-3 pack though. Too much for me.. I'm sticking to the $1 ones! Haha....

Also, if you want some great info on just about every type of HPT there is, try going to www.peeonastick.com

She's great, she has photos, comparisons, and info on several HPTs.

Good luck!! :)

I will test this weekend. Thanks for the tips.

Today the nausea, at least thus far, is gone. So, maybe it was a bit of a bug?

I did get a bit of good news today. I checked with my HR department policy and found out that at my job, the 12 weeks of leave is actually paid leave! So, if I am pg, at least I can take off the full 12 weeks and not lose money. This was excellent news, frankly.
