My sister has been sick for months and going for testing. She had been trying for 8 years to get pregnant with her second child. She finally finds out she is pregnant at the ER where she went because she was so sick. They diagnosed her with achalasia... a rare condition that doesnt allow her food to get to her stomach. Usually a simple surgery will fix the problem. However now that she is pregnant they said the only option is giving her a botox injection right into the esophagus. they said its never been done on a pregnant woman in our state. has anyone had this problem or know of any other information? they say it should remain localized but is it safe for the baby? she is only 7 weeks. she is distraught. any advice would be greatly appreciated.
thanks.
