Odds of becoming pregnant?? Please read.

Hello ladies,

First let me say, that I just got off of birth control roughly 2 months ago, and had my first real period this month (which ended roughly 5-6 days ago, at the maximum). I spent the weekend with my boyfriend (Sunday/Monday) as he gave me a wonderful christmas gift, since we won't be in town on christmas together this year. Anyways, while we did have condoms, we didn't use them, and he went inside me 2 times (1x sunday evening, 1x monday morning).

Is there a big chance that I could become pregnant from this? I know there is a chance, obviously, however, i've also heard that the hormones from the birth control can stay in your system for a while, even after you've been off of them (and I've only been off them for 2 months at the most). Also, since I'm not anywhere near my period, since I just got off mine 5-6 days ago, I am hoping that my chances are slim!

Moreover, how soon can one feel the morning sickness? I woke up with morning with a numbing sensation in my cheeks (though, it could be sinuses, even though my nose isn't stuffed? I was walking in the wind a lot this weekend)

Any thoughts, comments, would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Saying that your period ended 6 days ago... the average woman ovulates 10-12 days after the first day of her last period. So you are fitting into that time frame, even though you just got off BC. And feeling morning sickness... no time soon would you feel it as of now. That is your sinuses. So...

Saying that your period is about 5 days long, yes you did fit in that time frame. You will begin your period definately 14 days after you ovulate, although you may have a longer cycle (that is longer than 28 days).

As far as it being possible cause you just got off the pill, I was on the pill since 13 years old and i am almost 21, and I missed a week's worth in october- I saw my boyfriend ONE DAY that entire month and BAM! i'm pregnant. Some women it takes a year or more for the pill to clear their system, some women get a sudden burst of fertility shortly after they get off of it. Is there any particular reason you stopped taking BC and didn't use protection?

Good luck. I hope you get the result you wish for on your pregnancy test. And btw, no you can not have morning sickness yet. That wont start till about 5 weeks pregnant (5 weeks after the first day of your last period) though some women it will start later- and some women wont get it at all.

I got off of birth control because after 1.5 years, I realized it was causing massive hair loss! Now I have a nice 2 inch line on the side of my scalp where the hair has thinned terribly. It also caused dizziness.

I get get a new b.c pill from my doctor when I told her about this, (I was on Yasmin btw), and she gave me some new stuff with Iron in it. However, i'm not sure if I really want to continue taking b.c just because of the side effects...

Thanks for your encouragement. I am not as worried as before... however, this will still be on my mind until I get my period this month!
