oh boy, pregnant?

This has two thoughts for one question, so please bear with me. My husband and I decided in Feb we want to try to hv another baby, hopefully a girl (we have two boys). Nothing serious just see what happens. Well my periods seemed so late every month that every month I thought "is this it?". Finally I started tracking my periods and over the last three months I figured out that I have a 42 day cycle (average) instead of the normal 28.

On July 28th my 10 yr old was put in the hospital and diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. He spent four days in the hospital. After he came home, my Dh had a long talk and with our ten yr old's diabetes and our 3 yr old's GERD and Asthma, We decided maybe we shouldn't try for another right now. I was waiting for my cycle this month to start my birth control pills.

So finally this month I was very comfortable with when my cycle would start. It's been 49 days and nothing. I lightly spotted for two days a couple weeks ago, the week right before my PMS week, nothing since.

I am tired, but since my son started back to school I have been exercising more. My breasts as a whole are not sore but my nipples are EXTREMELY sensitive and feel like I hv had the crap pinched out of them. Yesterday I noticed that they are sticking out really far. I have had some nausea when I Reheated a piece of chicken for my son. I had made a chicken quesadilla with the same chicken for lunch and almost couldn't keep it down. I am still cramping and lots of mucus like I am going to start. I also spot very lightly for a couple minutes after the last two times my Dh had sex, I thought I was trying to start.

What is going on?

Have you taken a test yet? Since you are a week past your average cycle length, I'd take a test. If you still don't get your period and the test is negative, you may want to talk to the doctor about your hormone levels and getting a blood test before starting on the pills.

I hope you figure things out soon. It's really hard to say for sure one way or the other with your long cycles. Good luck!
