OK

My question is about how long do your hgc levels stay elevated after a m/c?

I had a very traumatic loss on Nov 20 at 15 weeks, but those old feelings are here again, so I took a test this morning. And.. It is positive. I already have 4 children (though we would love another one) and I believe I have taken tests this far post partum before and had - results....I don't know what to think

Thanks in Advance for all your help

Hi Laura,

First, I am so terribly sorry for your loss. I can't imagine going through that at 15 weeks. Do they have any info on why? I know that at that stage in pregnancy they can pin point a reason sometimes and it can be helpful to have all the info to completely get closure. Also, this may sound a bit cosmic but I truly believe the right baby always comes and sometimes it isn't in the right body so the body miscarries and the soul waits for the right one. At least that's what I tell myself to help comfort me in the recent miscarriage I had.

Okay so second, If you mean November 20th of 06 then I think it's too soon to have ovulated and have a new pregnancy. I could be wrong. They do say that you are more fertile after a miscarriage. But, 15 weeks is past first tri-mester so it seems like you would at least have a period and ovulation. I have also heard that HCG hits it's highest point and starts to decline sometime in the first tri-mester. You should call your Doc. becuase he or she will know if you still ahve HCG.

God Bless, good luck!
