Ovulation & Cervical Fluid

I have read up on charting Cervical Fluid, etc etc.... However, I know that not everyone is textbook as far as their pattern (of fluid or ovulation timing). I am fairly new to this "paying attention" to the fluids and such...especially since I've only been off of the mini-pill for almost 3 months.
I have about a 26 day cycle (of course sometimes it can be 28). We had sex on CD 11 & 12 (Sept 4 & 5) -- Period should be on Sept 20. By FertilityFriend, that was obviously the time of ovulation for me. However, I am curious if cervical fluid is a good indication for all women...is it possible to have ovluated but then not have the cervical fluid reflect that (or perhaps some women have more or less fluid than others, being hard to tell)...? I would say majority of the time, my fluid is white/creamy...I do get times where it is egg-white, but so far not this month (that I am aware of).
Has anyone gotten pregnant even without either noticing fertile-type fluid, or even thought their fluid wasn't fertile? Is this a good indication, and for that matter is the typical 14-days before your period a good indication either?
This is confusing and frustrating! Grrr!

Hello Msstudly! ;)
I think every women is different when it comes to Cervical Fluid. I know for me, I don't always get gobs and gobs of EWCM like some women do. I think that if you're charting your temps and you have a very clear temp shift, then you're probably Oing and you ust might not have a lot of 'visible' CF. Have you tried checking internally? I'm fairly new to the charting too. I just started temping a few months ago, but I've always tried to pay attention to my CF each cycle. I also noticed that throughout my whole cycle, I tend to have alot of creamy-like CF. Even past O I still have it. They say that typically you dry up after Oing, but for whatever reason I don't.

Thank you for your prompt reply!
I have not tried internally, technically...or at least not as far up as I should probably go to get an accurate reading.
From what I've seen, some women (and even varies from cycle to cycle) "O" later in their cycle, but I've rarely seen one where they "O" early. So I'm guessing it would be 10-14 days before a period.
I'm wondering if the lack of CM is something to worry about or not.... I'm wondering if others have gotten pregnant and didnt think they were O'ing..? I'm wondering if I should just assume I'm not pregnant since it seemed my CM wasn't fertile....
Also...something else I want to ask: We had sex a few days before my period last month (and my fluid was really watery and my cervix was open). I had a pink drop the next evening, then start lightly spotting the next day. I only had a light period for a total of 2 days, only during the day...very odd. So I figured I wasn't pregnant, especially since I have no current symptoms (but is it too early to tell?). Is it still possible to have gotten pregnant (or even ovulated) right before my "period"?
It's pretty unlikely that you would have concieved a couple days before your period. Usually you need a luteal phase of 12-14 days. This is the time from when you O to when your period starts. So, if you did O later in your cycle, then your period would start later, KWIM? Do you chart usinig FF? Here's some info that I found on the website:
The luteal phase (the time between ovulation and menstruation) does not usually vary much from cycle to cycle, while the follicular phase (the time between menstruation and ovulation) can vary considerably. A variance of more than a day or two in your luteal phase usually means that ovulation may have occurred earlier or later than your chart indicates on one or more cycles and you may need to make some adjustments to your charts. You can use the manual override feature or the ovulation detection tuners to make adjustments.
Alternately, if you are unable to determine a more likely date, you may need to exclude one or more cycles from your statistics (Menu Data/Cycles).
If it is taking a long time to conceive and you are sure that you are charting accurately, a varying luteal phase length is something you may want discuss with your doctor.
I hope that helps a little too.

Yeah, I doubt I concieved last month...it was just a passing thought though. Thank you for your input!
I still havent seen any evident eggwhite this month! I have had plenty of creamy, but no eggwhite...as I said before, maybe I had it, but just didnt realize...some months I guess produce less than others. I have been "watery" several times this month, but it only lasts for a day.
Also, when we had sex on Friday evening...I had a VERY small blood clot come out towards the end (never had that happen before)...no AF or spotting. I'm wondering if that was from ovulation or what. AF isn't due until Sept 20th.
Update:
Starting on Sunday evening, I felt some pain at the end of urination. I am going to Dr tomorrow, but I am 98% sure it is a UTI (I've had them before). I have had higher temperatures yesterday and today...and I know that a fever or higher temperatures has nothing to do with a UTI (I normally dont have a temp w/ UTI, & Med websites say that fever is not a symptom of UTI). I also have had fatigue the last few days, which could be related to the UTI. I noticed today (without even thinking about it) that I have a heightened sense of smell...perfume, coffee, smoke.
I am worried about first of all having a UTI, second of all taking antibiotics. I don't want anything to hinder conception this month. Has anyone had a UTI and/or taken antibiotics and still managed to conceive (at the same time) with no problems?
Thoughts about my symptoms? Related to pregnancy or not? I've heard some women have lowered immune due to pregnancy, higher temps, higher sense of smell, fatigue, etc.

I went to Dr yesterday and confirmed it was a UTI. I've had them before, and I normally have uncomfortable and/or painful urination for a day or two into antibiotics (they put me on Amoxillin, BTW). I dont have any pain or uncomfortableness anymore. I have been urinating very frequently even after starting antibiotics...and lots of urination coming with it (normally with infections you just have the urge but little urine). And I apparently have a yeast infection that came right along with the UTI (and I even take acidophilus and eat yogurt daily too). I didnt get an exact diagnosis, but my CM is white and a little more thick... Odd because I never normally get yeast infections until the very end of antibiotic treatment.
I read various websites saying that UTI's and/or yeast infections (or just white thick CM in early preg) are more common with pregnancy because of the hormone change and various other things that change in the female region. Anyway, I am sorry for going on and on...this is just odd -- the yeast infection AND UTI at same time, then the frequent (lots of) urination. And I'm still having more sense of smell (for days now), noticing coffee smells easier, odors easier, etc.
Out of the ordinary is just a cause for asking if others have experienced this, especially associated with becoming pregnant...? Or am I just nuts? ;-) Thanks for your time ladies!
Yes it is dificult at times to figure out your cm(cervical mucus). Yes you can get preg with out noticeing it. Yes everyone is different. As far getting preg the eggwhite cm is the best living enviroment for the sperm. The water is fine to as far as creamy or sticky it is considered hostile enviroment for the sperm. I have tried track o for month using cm and o pain didn't work. Buy some opk or temping. I used opk for the first time this month and it seemed to be right on. Not that i know if i'm preg yet becasue it's to early still for me. And yes counting back from the day your suppose to start your next AF(aunt Flo, period) 14-15 should be when you o. Hope I could clear some things up with you. Good luck. Baby dust to both of us.
Tracy
P.S.
You may have to over ride you o date on fertily friend. They won't give you an o date based on just cm.
Thank you for your input!!
As for my CM, FertilityFriend did an approximation of when I O'd...between CD 11 - CD 16 -- I believe I O'd on CD 15 (I'm now on CD 25). So, this month won't be a scientific and exact on when I O'd, but at least I have an idea. I might buy one of those saliva testers for next month...if AF shows. I am due for AF in 2 days (Weds). I don't feel like I'm getting AF or preg, honestly. But of course, I've heard when you don't have evident PMS or preg symptoms, that is sometimes a good sign, because anything out of the ordinary is good. And last month I had some hefty PMS, I could've sworn I was preg! But on the norm I have mild PMS - tender breasts, cramping 1-3 days prior, headaches, etc. Only thing I have had so far is mild headache last night, unexplained heartburn and mild constipation for days, a little fatigue.
P.S. I drank a glass of red wine last night before even thinking...I hope that won't be bad news.
