PMS or Pregnancy

You gals here give the best advice. I was just thinking of something weird that I wanted to ask your opinions on.
I don't know how likely this is or not, but can a woman begin having PMS symptoms the day after ovulation (between ovulation and implantation) and still be pregnant?
Does the body immediately know that conception has occurred and stops PMS from occurring or does the body have no idea that conception has occurred until implantation?
Thanks for reading! I'm sure I'll get a very helpful answer!

Hey Heidi!
I'm not sure I follow the question. Let me tell you about what happens to me every month and see if that might help (sorta) answer your question. Ever since I came off bcp (about a year ago) from the day of ovulation right up through till I get my period I have all the signs and symptoms of pregnancy. I get sore bbs, cramping, nausea, very gasey, low-back aches, and tightening and pulling senstaions in my lower abdomen. And so far I'm not pregnancy, yet I get these every month. I'm hoping though that this month (our 2nd month TTC) that all those symptoms AREN'T just my typical PMS and they are truely pregnancy signs. But we'll see! :)
HTH (a little bit)! :)

I guess what I'm asking is does the body know you've conceived BEFORE the embryo implants into the uterine wall or does it take until implantation for the body to realize that it is pregnant?
Here's what happened to me last month and I'm not sure if that's what's going on this month or not:
The day after I ovulated, I began experiencing PMS symptoms (cramping, bloating, irritability, breast tenderness, etc.). Now, if I had conceived, would those PMS symptoms continued until implantation, or does the body know automatically that you are pregnant from the moment you conceive, or does the body go on after conception, allowing PMS to begin, until it "realizes" that you are pregnant when the embryo finally implants into the unterine wall and preggo symptoms begin?
Aaah, ok I see what you mean. Well, I think that in order for your body to "know" it's pregnant it has to happen after implantation. I could be wrong, but that's what I think. So, with

See those were my thoughts on it as well. I figured how can your body know you're "officially" pregnant until it starts producing Hcg after implantation?
I just assumed that if one got PMS symptoms immediately after ovulation and conception that once the embryo implanted 7-10 days later, THEN your body would know you were "officially" pregnant and start producing preggo symptoms instead of PMS symptoms-almost like flipping the switch from PMS to preggo or something.
That sounds about right to me...although in my case, I dont' know what will happen, my pms symptoms ARE typical pregnancy symptoms....ah well, when I get my BFP I'll let you know! :)

My PMS symptoms are all preggo symptoms as well: VERY tender, swollen breasts, flatulence, and headaches are the most prevalent for me right now.
The only symptoms that I have that are different than my normal PMS symptoms are that I have little twinges every now and then in my abdomen, leg cramps throughout the day, and I'm REALLY bitchy and irritable right now. I usually don't get bitchy during PMS, but I feel like a firecracker about to go off! My poor DH! ;)
I also have quite noticible blue veins on my breasts, which really doesn't happen when I PMS!!! I mean, normally you can kind of see the veins, but they're very prominent now-much moreso than usual. I'm hoping that is a very good sign! Hubby noticed the veins yesterday and said what's up with your breasts, they look like a road map! I'm also craving fried chicken, which I do not like!
I'm trying to keep it all a secret until I take a HPT so I can surprise him on Christmas if I am, but it's hard when he's noticing that I'm overly moody and irritable and the changes in my body that could or could not be preggo symptoms at this point.
I hate this waiting crap!!! I can't wait to test!!! I'm on CD 23 and thinking about testing on Sunday (CD 26) but it may be too early. I'll keep you gals posted on any new developments! Thanks for the information!
