Jackie,

It is actually just a safe measure for you and your child you do not let her go outside naked. I see my neighbor letting her 3 and 5 year old do it all of the time, and I myself have contemplated reporting it. It is because pedophiles would see your child as eye candy. You are responsible for the welfare of your child, and believe it or not, that can be considered child endangerment. It sucks, I know. They are just kids, right? Right but wrong. We live in a sick and twisted day now where our innocent children are being turned into prey for pedophiles! I do recommend listening to the police and not letting your child outside naked anymore. . . for her sake. I am sorry if this comes off as mean or rude, but I am giving the facts. Take care.

Jackie,

I don't know of NH state specific laws, but your child welfare department should have an online web site which you could get some facts/laws.

I would have to agree with the other post, if your child was outside naked, it is not safe for her. You never know who may be watching. Pedophiles, murders, kidnappers, they're all sick in the head, and a nude child may just set a trigger off in their mind.

But then again your post doesn't specify where she was and if she really was naked or not. So no one can pass judgement.

I live in NH too (Concord), and I thought the State motto was "Live Free or Die". Shouldn;t that apply to children as well. You should say that to the cop if it happens again. Shame on your neighbors. I could see if it was midwinter and your child was outside naked!

This is not a legal advise...

But, there are no laws in HN that would literally prohibit you to let your child naked outside.

However, there are concepts of child neglect and endangerment, etc, which when interpreted, may include a naked child outside...

There is a concept of an abused child, which includes an emotional injury to the child...; a neglected child is one without proper parental control...

There is no harm from NOT letting your child be naked outside.

Use your common sense.

Best of luck.
