Hi everyone! I'm new to this board and have a question I'd love someone to give me advice on. I've been on the pill for about 8 years now. This past month I went off the pill in hopes of concieving a baby in the near future. I am a few days late and have symptoms like spotting, sore breasts (that's the worst!!) and nausea... I took a test a couple of days ago and it was negative.... Should I wait a little longer and take another one??? HELP!!

Hi,

Here is my experience:

I stopped taking the pill in January. My next period after stopping was about 2 weeks late. I was absolutely convinced that I was pregnant--I was nauseous, my boobs hurt, and I was late. Ended up that stopping the pill screwed up my cycle and I started having 35 day cycles, instead of 28 day cycles as was when I was on the pill. That happened for a the next couple of months, had the symptoms every month and was convinced I was pregnant. The symptoms you are having could be because of getting off the pill, or you could very well be pregnant and it's just to early to detect yet. I stopped the pill in January and found out I was pregnant in May. Good luck to you!

heres what happened with me...i went off the pill after being on it for 3 years last december (that was the last month i was on it) then in january i had my good old period as usual (first day was the 18th) and lo and behold that was my last period since february 1st i got pregnant lol i had the same symptoms youre describing INCLUDING a negative pregnancy test when it definately should have tested positive. i got a blood test done for mono (i was really sick) the next week, and i still felt unsettled about the take at home test, so i had them include a pregnancy test...sure enough, i was pregnant!! if you want to know for sure, just have a blood test done! hope i helped you!
