melchristine (& others who have posted about coming off BCP) ~ I HAVE to ask... what were your pg symptoms the month you were convinced you were pg?? I know everyone is different, but I'm wondering if any of them are what I'm experiencing.

Hi cjsteffy,

My symptoms were:

-sore breasts (specifically nipples) - never got this with PMS before
-my breasts seem larger (my husband even commented on this)
-on/off cramping the week prior to when I should have gotten my period.
-slight nausea all day long (which seemed to go away if I nibbles every few hours)
-dizziness
-heightened sense of smell (I have no sense of smell (always congested due to allergies, so this really popped out to me)
-heartburn (never get this)
-feeling emotional/quick to tear up (anyone who knows me would say this is VERY unlike me)
-Period was late
-Aversion to foods I normally liked (namely sweets)

I think that covers most of it. It was VERY disconcerting to me (since I kept getting BFN when I tested). I knew SOMETHING wasn't right. Then I emailed my doc (who is the greatest/most supportive woman) and she told me this could be related to just getting off the pill (but she was pulling for me and told me to come in for a blood test). No joke, a few hours after emailing her AF showed.

It was bizarre and eye opening for me (I thought it as going to be so simple).... this month I am not as quick to think preggers even though I am feeling some of these symptoms again. I think I'll wait for the BFP before getting my hubby all excited again. Poor guy.

Good luck to you!!!!

Oh, I also had trouble sleeping and kept waking up multiple times during the night. I normally sleep like a rock. I was tried too, but that could have been due to lack of sleep....

ha ha ha - sadly, this whole TTC thing has become an obsession for me these days (so I'm all over this ivillage chat board thing - ha!). I have about 5 women in my life preggers (1st trimester) and I'm hoping to join in on the fun very soon.

The crazy thing is, I've NEVER been baby obsessed/or thought much about motherhood in the past.....Oh lord, if my mom knew I was TTC she would DIE. She's been nagging for grandkids for years..... giggle.

Question for you.. So I didn't get to refill my bc in time because I was out of town, so I finished my last pack and af the first week of april. My bf and I would be thrilled to have a baby no questions, but just curious of what you think the odds would be that we concieved? We did TTC 3 times this past weekend. When is the soonest I would probably be able to test?

Thank you
