Hi there. I'm a little confused. I am not trying to conceive, but I would not be devestated if I am in fact pregnant. I'm not positive as to when I had my last period, but I'm pretty sure it was about March 30. My cycles are usually about 35 days long. I had unprotected intercourse twice on April 24th and once on April 29th. Here is the timeline of what has happened since:

April 30: started having mild cramps and was very...gassy. stools were looser than usual (sorry if that's TMI). I figured it was period coming on, although my menstrual cramps are usually severe and only last a day. Took a pregnancy test just in case my "encounter" on the 24th had gotten me pregnant. It was negative, but I realize it was probably too early to be taking that test anyway.
May 1: Cramps continued, but no period. Heartburn, extreme fatigue, and a "spacey" feeling. My temperature was 99.1.
May 2: Same symptoms, although cramps lessened, still no period, and I was absolutely exhausted despite sleeping even more than usual. Temperature went down to 98.8
May 3: Slight cramps, heartburn, extremely tired, no period, plus a low-level headache and some dizziness, and that spacey feeling. Temperature stayed at 98.8.
May 4: All the same symptoms.

I am still having the same symptoms today and have still not had my period. I am wondering if I conceived on the 24th but did not implant until later, resulting in an negative pregnancy test. Or maybe I am PMSing or coming down with something? Do you think I should go get a lab urine test, and if so, when?

hi there,
I would say that you should wait 2 weeks from the date you are concerned about before taking a pregnancy test. Implantation typically occurs 7-10 after conceiving.
Hope this helps.

I would personally say that you could be pregnant. I had the same symptoms as you almost immediately after I conceived. I had negative HPTs until the day of my missed period when I had a very light positive. I bought a digital test the next day and it was positive clear as day - then confirmed the next day at a Dr office.

You just have to wait. I know, it's hard :(

Thank you all for the replies. I finally caved in today and went into a clinic for another urine test, and it came back negative. I guess that means I'm probably not pregnant from the 24th, but I guess there's still a chance I got pregnant on the 29th and haven't implanted yet or something? I'm probably not pregnant at all, but I just think it's weird that I would cramp for this long without getting my period.
I will update whenever AF arrives or I get a positive. :)
Thanks again!

Okay, just one more update.
So after I got another negative, I decided to wait another week and then test again. Then all of a sudden I got what I suspect is my period. Extreme, debilitating cramping which is the norm for me. The thing is, I am now experiencing nausea along with it.
Has anyone gotten what appears to be a real period (as opposed to light spotting) and then turned out to be pregnant? The only reason I'm pressing this issue is because I've never quite felt this way before. It just feels like something is up this time. Or maybe it's just a weird period..

Thanks again.

You could still be pregnant. If your AF does not come within a week, test again. Some women do not get a positive HPT until they are further along. I know that even with the first response pregnancy tests (that say they are accurate within 4 days of your AF) I did not get a positive until the day of my missed AF, and even then it was so light that I had to shine it in the light to see it clearly as a positive.

Good luck, I hope you get whichever outcome you are hoping for :)
