Pregnant on Yasmin ??

I am completeing my third month on Yasmin. During my first two months, my periods came the last week of active pills. Tomorrow is the last day of my active pills, and still no period. My boyfriend and I have had unprotected sex on a regular basis since I started my very first pack and has never pulled out. I have decided to take a test if I haven't started by the time I start a new pack, but I was wondering of there is a chance that I can be preggers even on this pill. I was given this pill cause its the only one that hasn't messed up my system.

Don't get me wrong, we would love to have a baby (I am 23 he is 27) and have talked about having children. I just don't want to "alarm" him if there is nothing to worry about. Honestly, I am surprised he hasn't noticed that I haven't started yet.

If someone could shed some light on this, it would be much appriciated.

Hello Ladyj!

Welcome! Usually bcp are pretty good about preventing pg when taken correctly. Do you think it's possible that since this is your 3rd month on the new pills, that you're body is just still adjusting to them? And that's why AF hasn't arrived yet? Were you on a different kind before these? I was on yasmin, but only for one month before I decided to come off bcp all together, so I don't have much experience with them.

There's another message board on ivillage all about birth control, you might get some more specific answers from women who are also on Yasmin that can tell you how common (if at all) it is to have an adjusment timeframe for your body to get used to being on them?

But also, there may be some other women here that have experience with being on yasmin and pregnancy also. Hopefully they'll give you some info too!!

Good luck...and I hope

For no apparent reason once I didn't start my period until 4 days later than usual at the end of my pill pack. I wouldn't get too worried about it. BCP are a pretty solid way to not get pregnant. The pill should force your body to start period even if you are pregnant...if you have not started by a few days into the new pill pack, I would call the doctor as something else could be wrong.

Thank you all for your help. My boyfriend did ask me this morning if I had started yet or not, and if it was normal. His only concern was that I was going to be on it during our vacation next month. I told him its normal, and wouldn't be that big of a deal if I didn't. Well, I just started this afternoon at work. I guess my body is still getting used to the BC. Once again, thank you all!!
