protected sex and missed periods

I recently became sexually active for the first time. We did use protection, but now my period is about two months late. (It was never predictably regular, though.) I've discussed it with my fiance, and neither of us noticed any rips or tears in the latex, but I suppose anything is possible.

Also, I have other symptoms like tender breasts and slight constipation, but no nausea or fatigue.

All things considered, is it likely that I'm pregnant, or is it ordinary for a girl to miss a period after becoming sexually active?

Hi there.... I don't think it's "common" to miss your period just from becoming sexually active. If your periods weren't regular to begin with and if you're fairly young (late teens/early 20's) your body can still be adjusting and so in that regard it could be ok to have a missed period or so. But I would definitely mention it to your dr... and also try taking a home pregnancy test. If you're really late, you should be able to get an accurate result. Good luck, let us know how you're doing... :)
