Question about possible pregnancy

Hello there. I was reading over some of your posts and thought maybe you'd be able to answer a few questions I have. I have 2 kids who are 4 and 2 years old. That's all we wanted to have...well MAYBE have a 3rd maybe 3 or 4 years down the line. But I definately don't think I can handle another child right now.

I was on BC until the birth of my second, but then my cycles and hormones got all messed up and I bled for 8 months straight...the doctor tried 4 or 5 bc types until I just gave up and hubby and i have been doing "family type practice" and using condoms the week I was ovulating. We only did it twice this month due to me being out of town..once when it was 2 days after AF went away. The other is the questionable one.

I learned how to know when i was ovulating when we tried for dd #2, so I usually ovulate for 4 or 5 days and we use condoms for 2 days before (when feel it coming on) and until 2 days after done. So I'm finished with ovulation (so I think) and 3 days later, hubby and I do it without protection which I am sure was a gamble but hey we were on vacation and romantic and he forgot them!!! So the next day I am wiping and notice that there is the same sort of CM that I know comes out when ovulating. So now I don't know if my system was messed up and wasn't keeping track of actual ovulation or what.

So that was on the 5th. I was expecting my AF on the 12th. Didn't come and then on the 14th, I wiped and noticed lots of cm and a little tingle of blood. So I figure I'm getting my AF since it usually starts like that. But now we are 3 days later and I still haven't bled...only 1 out of 3 times I wipe there is a little tinge of red with the CM. No real symtoms, might be a little more tired then usual but with dd #1 starting school and her bday and party, I could just be extra tired.

I did a cheapy $1 store test on the 14th that was negative. It seems that I ovulated late this month, finishing the 2nd (or 5th depending on the "come back of it) and expected AF on the 12th. So if I were, I guess it would still be to early to test. Sorry this turned into a novel...I've told my family over and over that I don't want any more kids, they know that with my bad back and all I can't handle another child so I haven't been able to share this with anyone, especially hubby. So what do you all think? I concieved dd#1 without trying (just no bc) in 4 months and concieved dd#2 with trying in 2 months so i'm probably pretty fertal murtle.

It sure sounds like your pregnant ! Oh and I have thought I o'd 2 times this month only to found out that the ewcm came in even more abundance later !So I had O pains and tons of EWCM 3 times this cycle ! It can be so confusing! I would start using OPKs if I were you if your trying the " Natural family planning method". I would go buy a answerearly or a first response early they detect levels of 25 the test you took detects 100 ! Let me know how it goes !

Thanks for your imput. I'm still having brown cm when wiping but now 6 days late from actually having AF. But gotta wait until mil leaves (in town visiting and staying with us) before I can buy a test and take it. She's nosey, lol.

Good luck to you on this, whether BFP or BFN!

On a side note, are you charting your temps in addition to the CM observations? EWCM can pop up several times in one cycle; the only way to know for sure that ovulation has passed - and that you're "safe" for BD - is by looking at your daily temperatures also. Your temp goes up in the second part of your cycle - after ovulating - until it makes that rise, you're not "safe" while BD.

Ovulation only happens for one day, and the egg lives just 12-24 hours. However, we can have 4-5 "fertile days" in which we produce EWCM, and the sperm can live inside us & that CM for up to 5 days. The book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" is all about the "Fertility Awareness Method" and how to use it for pregnancy avoidance and achievement. All you'll need to do is purchase a BBT (basal body temperature) thermometer; these are carried at most Walgreens or other well-stocked drug stores for $6.99 - $9.99.
