Hi all,

This is my 1st time posting here as I usually lurk and sometimes post on TTC board. I asked this question on the TTC board but really did not get any responses so I am hoping that someone here can help.

Yesterday I was at my gyn. getting some fertility tests done (endo. bioposy and blood work) and whe offered to run a beta pregnancy blood test. I was 7 dpo.

Is 7 dpo enought time to give a conclusive reading if I am pregnant or not? Obviously if it comes back pos. then I really don't need to worry about this, but if it is neg. do you think that it was to early to test and i could still be pregnant.

Please let me know what you think and I thank you all for your help.

Yes. definetely 7 days can be too early to test. I'm surprised he did that. Either he is trying to make more money, or he has a gut feeling about a possible pregnancy. Usually, you won't get a + result yet, at 7 days. If the egg met the sperm THE DAY you O'd then it would just now be implanting. It takes 7-10 days for implantation. I hope it shows good news and if not, try again in another 5 days. Also ask your doctor about going on natural progesterone. I have had 5 pregnancies and only two have resulted in a baby. The other 3, I was not on progesterone or not on it soon enough. :( If you want more info on Progesterone, read "Getting Pregnant" by Niels H. Lauersen, M.D.,PH.D. Very good book. I have others to reccomend if you like. Let us know what happens!!!!!!!

Implantation can happen as early as 4 or 5 days after O. It is possible to detect HCG with blood that soon but the chances are greater that you will not have implanted soon enough. Just keep your fingers crossed and say a little prayer. Hope all turns out well for you.

Thank you for responding. Unfortunately, I spoke to my Dr. office and the beta test was neg. Of course I only spoke to the receptionist and not the dr. so I couldn't even ask if it was too early to get a conclusive pregnancy reading. I asked the dr. to call me back.

Hi ! i'm almost in the same situation like you. My LMP was 1 Sept and i have a test on 22 Sept, actually i don't know when i ovulated but it could be 7 dpo when i tested. I had a " quantative beta Hcg blood test" that test shows the exact amount of HCG in blood even if it's i unit only. The test didn't detect any HCG in blood and it was (-) i'm also worried if i took the test early ot not?? is the (-) accuate or not?? my period is due on 28-29 Sept. when is your period due??

You're not alone in this.Wish it turns out as you want.

Good Luck !
