Hello. I have a few questions. How long have any of you ladies gone with out a period without being pregnant? And does having thyroid problems mess things up? And if so how?

Thank you

Yes I have thyroid diease I have been both hyper and had my thyroid radiated now its hypo. When it was hyper I didnt have a period at all and when it became hypo I had irregular peroids untill the level got normalized . as long as my levels stay normal I do not have problems but if they start wacking out and my meds need changed I start having irregular periods again. I have had 2 kids since having hypo thyroid. My meds are working fine right now and so my periods are normal and im ovulating. Having thyroid diease can cause you not to O .Even with irregular periods I ovulate I have no problems with that other than when it was hyper . I know alot of woman who do not ovulate regularly or at all with hypo thyroid . Do you have thyroid diease?

I don't know if I have it or not. I'm finally going to the doctors tomorrow.

This is my background. My last period was in May. I haven't had one since then, I have taken 4 preg test and they have all came out negative. Blah. We were going to start ttc number 2 but can't do it until I get things figured out. I'm just going through every possiblity in my head. Don't know whats going on with my body. And as of today still no sign of my period. Only things i've had problems with is my right side on my back won't stop hurting and my right overie hurts every now and then but goes away just as quickly as it come. If anyone can help me i'd appreciate it. Thank you

When I was 18, I missed my period for 3 months straight, and at 21 I missed it for 4 months straight. And this was before I was sexually active, so there was no possiblity of being pregnant. The doctor thought it was just stress. I guess he was right, but I didn't feel like I had been under a lot of stress. But you never know what little things will cause your system to go out of whack.

I know that stress can play a part in things. I don't feel stressed though. Things are finally going good. Did your doctor give you something to jump start it? Thank you for your help!
