Quitting Smoking, Anxiety, and Late AF

Does anyone out there know if the anxiety created by quitting smoking would cause AF to be delayed?

I'm in my TWW right now. I believe I'm between 4 and 6 dpo. I don't chart and am going off of what the online calculators say is when I might have O'd. DH and I BD'd at all the right times this month.

Well, I decided on Tuesday night that I was going to give up smoking for myself, for my family, and for Lent. I have been smoke free (cold turkey) for the past 2 days and 11 hours. :) I've been anxious and a little crabby, but I just wanted to know if the anxiety and stress would possibly set AF back a bit?

Hi Heidi,

Stress can affect your cylces alot! But the way it does that is that it delays ovulation. Stress doesn't make AF start late, it just makes O late. You will typicially always start AF 12-14 days after you O, regardless. But if you're body is under stress, what can happen is you'll gear up to O, have the EWCM, etc and then it just might not happen, and it'll will try again in a couple of days. So, if AF is late, you can probably either attribute it to either 1) you're pg or 2) if you're stressed, you probably O'd later than you normally do.

Hope that helps...
