Safe to assume its positive?

Technically I'm not due for my period until tomorrow, 1/23, but I took a test because of a symptom/problem. Friday night & Saturday morning we had sex & afterwards I started getting cramps. It was worse on Saturday than Friday. So I went & bought a test & waited till Sun morning to take it since its before my periods suppose to start. It was a First Response early test so 2 lines were positive. The line was visible but faint so I decided to take another one this morning, it was 2 lines again & a little darker. I called my dr's office & they set me up for an appt w/ an educator on Feb. 26 & my 1st OB visit March 12. Is it common for them not to confirm it? They called in prenatal vitamins. Still hasn't really sunk in. Should I take another test because of the lines being light? I know the instructions said they could be lighter than the other. Just not sure what to think. I want to tell my mom but also don't want to tell her & come to find out I'm not. This would be my 1st pregnancy. Please let me know what you think. I also think its kinda weird for them not to have me come in now to go over the do's & don'ts since this is my 1st if I am. Should I just go by what these two said? I'm lost :)

Hi there...well, I just want to ask first, that you're not assuming that you got a + on Sunday from sex you had that Friday/Saturday,right? If you got a positive it was most likely from sex you had about a week to two weeks ago. And that being said, it sounds like you were just concerned over the cramping from the sex on fri/sat, right?
Anyways, yeah, it's pretty common, most dr's offices don't see youn until you're 8-10 weeks into the pregnancy. Actually, I just found out I'm pregnant too, I've been taking tests and getting positives since last Thursday. So, when I called today, the made me an appt for March 5th. The reason they don't need to confirm pregnancy is that the home tests used now are sooo reliable they don't need to. This is my first pregnancy too, and as for the do's and don'ts I'm relying on my sister (who recently had a baby) and books, and if I'm really not sure of something I try to do my research online.
