Well I'm going to start off by saying hi to everyone, because I'm new to this board.

I didn't know where else to go just to tell people about this, so I figured a message board would be the best choice.

Anyway, my last period started on December 19th 2006, and finished on the 24th. My boyfriend and I had sex later that day, but I don't think this would be the cause of a pregnancy as we did use contraception. However, a week ago, we were taking part in activities involving the hands, if you get my meaning(fingering, etc), on each other. And, no protection was used, and the ejaculate seemed to get, well, everywhere.

At first, I was uncertain, but I understand that a woman can get pregnant by just the tiniest bit of semen coming into contact. This scared me a little, as I've become rather worried I could be pregnant.

I have experienced symptoms such as nausea and cramp, which at first I put down to general illness, such as a bug, then today I experienced light pink spotting and I have also, over the last couple of days, gained 2 - 3 lbs (whether that last one is relevant I have no idea).

Does anyone here think this sounds like a pregnancy? I haven't yet done a test, but I intend to after about a week.

Someone please reply? I'm worried and need advice.

hiya katie--x
let me start by welcolming you to the message boards, secondally let me ask you a very presonal question the day you had sexual activities did you actully have intercorse because you cant usaully get preggy if he ejaculates outside of u if ya get my drift. wot you are experiancing could just be a normal period cause thats wot the symptoms sound like even if you arent due it could still be but on the other hand they are also some of the many preggy symptoms so wait a few days then take a test or see your doctor if you have major concernes i hope this has helped a bit keep visiting the boards and keep postin keep me up 2 date with it all best of luck!!

Dear scared,
Yes it is true that only a slight ammount of semen is needed to get pregnant, from what I read, it would be unlikely for you. Remember, an average cycle lasts 28 days with ovulation occuring somewhere in the middle. most likely day fourteen. The nausea and cramping (and other symptoms) can occur in what is called a chemical pregnancy, where the body thinks it is pregnant because of hormone elevation (somtimes due to the anxiety of thinking one is pregnant). the spotting could be due to a number of different things (a cyst, cervical irritation, endometriosis, hpv, cervical cancer ...just to name a few. so where you probobly need not worry about pregnancy at this time, i wold recommend you speek with a doctor about the spotting. good luck!!
