Is it possible that your wife miscalculated when she ovulated?

Not impossible at all actually. Although I have no PHD or any accreditation what so ever, I do read a lot. Sperm can survive in a woman's body for about 5 to 7 seven days, although apparently the woman's body is pretty treacherous for the little sperm. A woman's body treats the sperm as a foreign invader, much like a virus, and attempts to kill it off using her immune system. Luckily, some usually get by, and hopefully they find an egg every now and then to bury into. Lastly, although there are certain times during a woman's cycle when she is more likely to become pregnant, she can in fact become pregnany at any time outide of her period (although the numbers on that happening are very, very low).

Well, thanks for letting an un-educated hill-billy from Northern Canada say his piece. I hope this helps and CONGRATS on the pregnancy!
