i just called the hospital where i went on friday march 30th because of a closed head injury. i thought i could possibly be pregnant so i asked them to give me a blood test to find out if i was or not before i did the cat scan. i had my stomach shiedled anyway just in case before we got the results.
i had told them that my last period was feb 27th and that i thought i could possibly be pregnant.
what i forgot to mention was that i had bled on march 14th (didnt think it was AF until now) but i didnt mention it because i thought it was implantation bleeding because it was so light and short.
I just called them and asked them if it was a quanitive (measures the amount of HCG) OR a qualitive (which just sees if any is there and is yes/no).
they told me it was a QUALITIVE and it was negative.
since they thought if i was pregnant i would have been further along that was probably the reason they used a qualitive, thinking it would show up since i hadnt had a period since feb 27. but now that i know march 14th was a period and not implantation bleeding, could that have affected the accuracy of the results?

basicly what im asking is would march 30th had been too soon for a qualitive blood test to tell if i was pregnant if my last period was march 14th.

i ordered some HPT's from www.babyhopes.com that were really cheap but supposed to be extremely accurate (99%) from 4 days before missed period. but they are not going to be here till 5-7 business days. i think my next period should be (or hopefully wont come by)around april 5-10.

i just want to know if theres a possibility i could be pregnant!?

First off, I'm not sure why you think you're pregnant. If you had your period on Feb. 27th, I don't see how you'd be having it again 2 weeks later. Let's say for argument sake you did. You still wouldn't have ovulated again until at least March 28th or thereabouts. Implantation takes 7-10 days after that. Up until implantation occurs, pregnancy would not be detectable, blood test or not.

obviously i have a reason to believe i could possibly be pregnant. i wouldnt waste my time trying to figure out wether or not i was if there couldnt be a possibility.

i put in the last 3 months ive had my period on an ovulation calculater. it said that my cycle was on average about 23 days and that these were the days i would have been fertile and i had unprotected sex on these days.

wether or not its accurate is beyond me. but the reason im so concerned is because im on pain medication and if i am infact pregnant do not want to do anything that could in any way possibly hurt my baby.

which is why i was trying to figure out if the blood test, which was qualitive was accurate. and ive come to figure out that it obviously wasnt, because like you said implantation most likely would not have even occured at the time i took the test.

i hope you can understand why i am concered that i might be pregnant when im on a lot of pain medication and dont want to harm my child if i am!

well thats good to know about that they dont feed off the mother until 5 weeks because my main concern was about needing the pain medication but being hesitent to take it. if i am pregnant the very last thing i want to do is harm the baby. ive already wasted so much money on pregnancy tests when i thought my last period was on feb 27th and thought i was a week late. im trying to control my urge to buy another test and wait for the cheap tests (hopefully cheap AND accurate, so they say!)
