okay heres my problem...
i just started birth control a month ago and of course i had the nausea and sore boobs... but then it went from nausea every so often to nausea all the time and worse with certain smells and my boobs are getting alot bigger and i can see every vein in my chest... my feet have started to retain fluid and get puffy and i cant stay awake for more than 6 hours at a time... which is really not normal cuz im used to wakin up at 9a and goin to bed at like 12p... i started my sugar pills 3 days ago which is sposed to make me start my period but so far i have only spotted a little tiny bit of brownish stuff... i know the nausea and sore boobs are side effects of birth control but should it be so severe and what about the rest of the stuff? I am really wondering if i could be pregnant... and i kno that sounds stupid bcuz im on birth control but they say women are like their mothers and my mom got pregnant 3 times on birth control... i have been extra careful but we have had a condom break on us recently... does anyone have any ideas about this... like could i be pregnant or what else it could be? and if i take a test would the birth control affect it? (ortho-trycyclen lo)
i want to apologize for such a long post but i really need some help

First thing you should know is that it takes a full month of birth control to start working. So the first month you were at risk of pregnancy. Hopefully you are not on any antibiotics because that cancels out the pill. Some of your symptoms sound like the hormones from the pill, some sound like pregnancy. Some people are almost allergic in a way to the pill. It is just an opinion, but I think that you definitely should have started your period on the sugar pills. Are you usually regular? I would absolutely test before you begin your next pack of pills.
Next, the pill will in no way affect the pregnancy test. Also I feel it important to note that women are NOT like there mother's. My mother had her period for three months when she was pregnant with me, and with my brother she carried 10 months before he was born. With my first baby I was textbook pregnancy until it came time for delivery, c-section and my second was preterm ... so everyone and every pregnancy is very different.
I hope this helped a little. Keep us updated ... good luck!
