i posted about this a couple days ago and didn't get any responses. i'd really like some input/advice on the matter. also, this is going to be long and i'll apologize for that right now!

i've been on yasmin for a almost a year (started to regulate my period). i became sexually active in mid-july (i got married :^) i'm so proud of myself for managing to wait!). i started to feel really tired about the second week of august, and my eyes started to feel like they have too much fluid in them. i even left work early one day because i felt such a horrible combination of fatigue and nasuea, and my manager (who has 3 children) told me i was probably pregnant.

i was mildly concerned, but i got my period august 20th and it seemed about normal (lasted about 6 days, normal pattern), though it may have been slightly lighter than usual. the fatigue has continued, and i've been nasueated enough since then to have actually thrown up a little a couple of times (i rarely throw up even when i'm sick).

i did get my period again, on time, september 17th, but this one was kind of odd. there was only one day that was heavy at all (normally, i have one super heavy day or two that are still heavier than this was) and it was partially a kind of clear goo (for lack of better words) for that heavy day. the second thing was that it only lasted 4 days.

other things that are making me concerned are that, even though i've been working out lately and my diet hasn't changed much, my more form-fitting jeans seem to be getting a little tight. not too bad, but bad enough that they aren't comfortable for more than a couple hours at a time. i almost think my boobs are spilling out of their cups a little more than usual, but they're already big. not enough of a difference there for my husband to have said anything, although i'm not sure he'd notice anyway *silly boy*. also, within the last week or so i've started to seriously have to pee all the time. plus i still have the fatigue, slightly painful eyes, and occasional nasea.

i'm half convinced that i'm stressing myself into this or seeing things that aren't there, but i'm still worried. i'm a little afraid to test because i want my husband there when i do it cuz i know i'll fall apart if i find out i'm pregnant and can't get ahold of him for hours to tell him. plus i want to feel like i really have a reason for doing it other than being paranoid before i tell him i'm taking a test, especially since i haven't missed a period.

we do want children, but we had intended to wait a couple years. i was considering going off the pill, and his comment to that was that "then we'd have to use condoms all the time or maybe have a baby, but babies cost too much." i asked him a couple days ago what he'd say if i told him i was pregnant, and he said he'd probably just kiss me. any suggestions or ideas or thoughts or WHATEVER are more than welcome!!! thanx for reading my whole post!!!!

Hi girrrlychild;

Wow!! It seems you and I are on the same boat. I am a little relieved. I thought I was going crazy...

My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for a few months now... when my period is late for even one day we both get excited anticipating whether or not this is it... unfortunately my period comes... my last period was on 8/17 and like you it was not my normal "flow"

For the last 2/3 wks my eyes are watery, itchy (almost like when you have on mascara for too long) and I have been feel nauseated too over every day things that normally would not get me sick... for e.g taking out the garbage... for some reason it seems my sense of smell is heightened (spelling??) ... the other day I was going to season chicken legs for dinner and literally threw up cause the chicken had a tremendous bad odor (so I thought) my husband came in immediately and asked if I was ok I asked him to smell the chicken and he said it was fine...

I get sick to my stomach when i cook... and if I pass a food place. I am feeling fatigue.

We thought I was pregnant.. i have done 2hpt and both came out - yet I did not receive my period yet... today i am 7 days late...

i dunno if i helped u out or not but i just wanted u 2 know i am going through the same thing

plz write back and let me know ur thoughts

thanx

Hi, I do not know how much I can help, I have never taken any kind of birth control, but I know what it feels like when no one answers your posts. I definitaly think you should take a test. Stanger things have happened than getting pg on the pill. From what I have read on other posts it depends alot on if pills are taken at the same time everyday, If one was missed sometime ect. Whether you are pregnant or not it sounds like you should call your dr anyway. If nothing else maybe he can help explain your symptoms. I wish you lots of luck, and hope you get the answers you are looking for!

Take the test! 2 periods probably means you're not pregnant, but you should know just in case. You'll feel better either way. And even though I you meant to wait a couple years, I bet your husband would be excited.

thanx for responding! i would almost be happier if i hadn't gotten my period because then i'd feel like i had a solid reason to test. i'm afraid that i might have still gotten it because of the pill, and i don't want to stay on the pill too long if i am pregnant. when i started taking the pill, i asked my doctor what effect it could have on a baby if i got pregnant while i was still on it. she told me that as long as i stopped taking it within 3 months of getting pregnant, it shouldn't do any damage. now i'm just afraid that it's causing me to keep having a period! maybe i'll break down and get a test this weekend (i definatly want my husband to be home!!!). i'm poor enough to not want to waste the money on a test if i'm not pregnant - thank God i'll have insurance soon!!! (yay benifits kicking in!!)

this is my first time responding. I am new to this site. My suggestions to you is if you are truly wondering if you could be pregant I would go buy a home test and take it as soon as possible. If the test comes back negative and you are still having the same symptoms I would contact your doctor. My sister is on the same pill you are on. She has had alot of weird/unusual side effects from it. She isvery moody, her periods aren't always regular as you have disucessed. My best bet is to take the home test and then see your doctor and if you still feel not like your self. Good Luck:)

Hi, I think you should definitely do a test right away. The cost will be definitely worth it to give you peace of mind. That way, if you are pregnant, you can stop the pill right away and know you aren't doing any harm. If you are feeling overwhelmed just come to the computer and we will be listening. If you are not pregnant you should go to the doctor anyway because there must be some reason for your symptoms. Let us know how it goes.

I would still test but most likely you are not pg. I have been on BCP for 6 years and every brand of pills would come with a different side effect. Wait gain is one, plus nasuia, and fatigue also I have very light periods that only last one day. One month I didn't have one at all. My doctor says that if you took your pills correctly you are not pg. I would wait until your next period to see if you are late. If so wait 2 or 3 days. The pill can do weird things. Sometimes my bbs are so sore I think that I must be pg but then AF always shows up. Last thing if you have red blood that needed a pantiliner or tampon, I would consider that AF. Also you may need to talk to your doctor to see if this pill is right for you. They can try to put you on a different brand.

Hi. You need to take a test even though you had what you think is your period. With my first pregnancy I didn't know I was pregnant for my first three months. I had a regular period my first minth of pregnancy and didn't take a test until I missed my period the next month. With my pregnancy I felt completly fine no morning sickness or anything, just no period the second month. So I would take a test to be sure. I hate to sound like bad news, but I also ended up pregnant for the second time taking yasmin. I took it religiously everyday at the same time. But you know I wouldn't change anything, I now have the two most beautiful baby girls one is 22months and the other just turned 3 months old.

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to let you know I was going through basically the same thing. I took the morning after pill one month, and then had a 2 day light period that was 6 days late, started my birth control pills right after (all taken correctly) and only had 3 days of spotting which was early, Im a regular 5-6 days heavy at first then lightening up (28 day cycle). I have been on the pills before off and on for about a year now and have never had any problems with them. I started getting really bad headaches, hot flashes, nausea, sleeping all the time, eating would go in spurts alot one day hardly anything the next, back aches, bad acne, Killer mood swings, nothing tasted the same anymore, and for some reason i started getting sick off the smell on my dishes. YES Dishes!..THey never smelled likea anything before, then all the sudden they did. Last week I went into the doctor and she was almsot sure I was pregnant as well as I was. I took a blood test which came back negative. I still have all the same symptoms (not all at the same time of course). I stopped taking the pills because that was my next thought of what could be causing everything. I went into the doctor again today and she did ALOT of blood work to see if theres some chemical imbalance somewhere. I go back to the doctor in the morning to find out the results and to go from there.

Good Luck ~ I you wish i will write back when I find out what is goin on with me
